I've been watching the classifieds and Reverb for a few months waiting for the right Sadowesky with my preferred woods and this beauty was for sale in Mint like new Condition. Just happened to have Ash body and Ebony Fretboard which is my favorite woods and my favorite color also. Hoping this beauty sounds and plays as good as she looks.

Quick roundup: my Mono M80 became way flimsier after use -- I was so disappointed I got rid of it awhile back. My Reunion Blues Continental seems as sturdy and protective as the Portabag, but lacks the pocket space, and I don't like the longneck shape that distorts when opened (not true for teardrop cases that have a straight hinge). ProTec Contego is very nice for the price (now $150 at Amazon?! Was just over $100 when I first got one), has decent pocket space, but definitely isn't as sturdy or protective as the Portabag.

I am super-impressed with the Sadowsky soapbars! 
These came on a used 2014 I recently acquired.
A bigger footprint than a Jazz pickup, they're just fat enough to have a cool character all their own. They make you stop and say "Whoa, that's nice!" They're not massive and bright... and they're definitely not dark -- they're ideally balanced (for me anyway). And they'll politely take as much boost from the preamp as you can throw at 'em without sounding overly big and harsh.
The Sadowsky soaps sound outstanding together, blended or ISO'd. The bridge pickup really sounds nice on it's own!
If you want the thinner ring of a Jazz pickup, then get a Jazz pickup... those are great, too... but these are different.

I agree, and my impression is identical.
I want another and if I do, I definitely want soapbars again. I've been 95% blended 50/50, and agree, when not, I do kind of like favoring the bridge. Such a different tone than favoring the bridge on a regular jazz (which I also really like). They sound great, they feel great under my fingers. I don't really slap, and when I do, it is a nice dialing back of the banging zing on a regular jazz bass. Just a politer, more understated slap.

it looks awesome! I am looking for a 24 frets 5 string modern in ash and ebony board, colour is not that relevant. I want to pair it with my 4 string with single coils

I'm a ProTec Contego fan. Not as sturdy as the Sadowsky, but lighter and smaller, with plenty of storage space. After several years in the wilderness, I've returned to the Sadowsky fold and again have a Portabag, and I could swear it's more compact than I recall - am I hallucinating this difference?
Does anyone know the outside height of these bags. Just wondering as my normal preferred Mono M80 is around 52 inches long on the exterior.
I'm re-discovering the soapbars in my 24 Fret, after owning it for around three years. I even swapped them out for a set of Nordy Big Splits for a while. I liked them at first, but then decided to go back to the soaps. The Nordys were a bit to bright for me. I have always blended the pickups 50/50 or slightly towards the neck pickup, but recently have been getting great sounds with the soaps blended slightly towards the bridge pickup. I compensated by boosting the bass a bit and am getting fantastic tones. This is new territory for me, on any bass, and I'm enjoying it.I am super-impressed with the Sadowsky soapbars!

I had seen a Sadowsky P body with a PJ config with a soap bar or super J (?) that really had me intrigued when I saw it on the site. Really wondered what that would be like. Not the kind of thing you find preowned but would definitely explore if doing a build. Problem is is there is so many amazing options with Sadowsky situation that I don’t think I could ever order one without feeling I should’ve done something else not that I would wind up with anything that would be bad that’s for sure
