You guys wasn’t kidding about these Sadowsky Portabags being the bomb. I’ve owned all the major gigbag and this is better.

Yes, the portabag is fabulous and I won't use anything else now.
I have 9 of various sorts from older Incase versions to earlier Access versions, to current ones.
The Protec Contego is a close second, the the upper strap fastering spot isn't adjustable, meaing when I shoulder that bag, the headstock is way up in the air over my head: no bueno.
If I had to, I guss I could have one Portabag and use it for all my basses, but I love that bag and want to support businesses I like to the degree that I can.
So I have one for each bass. If I sell a bass, it goes in the bag it came with and I keep the Portabag for the next inbound thing.
I'm currently have two Portabags empty, that means I can buy two new basses, right?

I can’t believe my 35’ scale Devon fits in in perfectly too. I may try and buy another one of these as I like it better than my Mono M80 bags I’ve used for years. I normally have trouble finding bags these basses fit in.
The preamp and pickups are starting to grow on me on my Sadowsky but for the life of I don't understand why they fixed the blend feature like that. It just goes against everything I've ever played and messes with my head lol. I'm thinking about waiting and seeing what this bass does live 2 times this weekend. I play with our band in 2 different venues with one being a hard room EQ wise. We will see what it does with the band.
That’s a wise move. Sadowskys sit in the mix so well, that you really need to use them live(or in a studio mix) to judge. Also, the blend is easily reversible.
The lowend on this bass is massive and clean. The pickups have a little grit to them also it seems. I'm thinking it may be really nice in our full band mix. We have a aggressive drummer so that may cut nicely.

I’ve found that a slight blend to the bridge pickup and boosting the bass and treble about 30-40% and a cut of the tone knob of about 40-50% gives me a really nice punchy tone that is fat and clear. I’m really starting to appreciate the preamp after learning it some. I’ve always been a flat EQ kind of guy but boosting this preamp is still useable.
I have been very impressed with the tone knob on my NYC.
I cut the tone in half with just a bit of bass and treble, and the bass sounds great.
My Fender tone knob, hardly a fingerprint on it. Never touch it off of full.
This Sadowsky VTC is something else.

Yup that seems to be the formula. So effective.
Same here. On most active preamps I’ll leave it flat, with the occasional bass boost or cut depending on the room. The Sadowsky preamp is pretty special though. The EQ points/curve really sit well in a mix. Generally I’ll boost the bass about 20-25%, treble about 15%, and then back the tone off a little.
