What Strings besides the Sadowsky Steels have you guys used on the 5JJ Sadowsky basses and liked? I don't think I will continue with the Steels as I wouldn't want to have premature fret wear. I've always been a big DR Pure Blue fan on pretty much every bass I've owned.

After all of these years, I cannot believe we are still talking about the direction of the pan pot!!
Who was the sage who decided that the opposite direction from mine was correct from the beginning? Every time I poll my dealers and players, the overwhelming majority tell me my direction is more intuitive. But I understand people get used to things, which is why I increased my cost by 500% on the pan pot to have screw terminals so anyone could reverse the direction without soldering. I also include a $5.00 mini screwdriver with every NYC bass.

On MetroLine and other basses, the pan is always reversible but does require soldering.
So just make it where you like it! There is no right or wrong, there is no correct or backward.

My Sadowsky Satin has the prewired preamp, so I just reversed the two blend pot wires, since they go into screw terminals. The bass came with instructions detailing how to do that, so I didn’t feel like I was breaking the rules or anything.

If you want great nickel strings there are tons to choose from, my two faves are DR Sunbeams if you want the slinker but longer lasting round core, or DR LoRider Nickels if you want the stiffer more traditional hex core for lower action with more controllable fret sizzle.

I didn't know it was so easy to change! The direction of the knob is not an issue form me at all, but thanks for going above and beyond to give us an easy option to change it!

So everybody gets all crazy when it comes to this pan knob.

I left mine where Roger intended it to be just because thats what it is. Like the builder intended.

My Schecter is totally the opposite of my NYC, but I figured it out.

I kind of like when I go for a more P bass setting on the front pickup, I can see the white line on the knob. Easy peasy!

My goodness, if it becomes an issue just flip the red wires.

Conversation over. Now let’s talk about Sadowsky bass amps coming back to market and t-shirts! ;0)

Agree on the Sunbeams, and also recommending DR Pure Blues - a tad less slinky than the Sunbeams, but much more so than the LoRiders. These have been my favorite rounds since first trying them.

Well it took a couple minutes but I swapped the wires like Roger said and bam...My NYC bass is now normal lol.
