Indeed, 8802 is surprisingly gorgeous. Love those blocks and pearloid PG.
Now now.. no reason to get all hot and sweaty.
Having the thinner plastic just feels more natural - I feel like I'm closer to the actual pickguard itself.

So a buddy of mine was fortunate enough to snag a MetroExpress right after they came out. I guess since Sadowsky is no longer doing strings he switched to a different brand and asked me to set it up for him. I grabbed the bass a few days ago and went to work. A little tweak of the truss rod, a slight bridge height and intonation adjustment and it was playing amazing! I figured before I get it back to him tomorrow I’d make one of my low budget YouTube vids playing it. I found an online jam, listened to it a few times and then hit record. I had full volume, pickups 50/50, tone slightly rolled back and bass at about 3 (out of 10) and treble at about 2. I know the Warwick made basses are a little different but I could easily rock one of these ME’s and not look back. Anyhow, here was my 1am project last night (or this morning).......
I have one more thing to add about this MetroExpress. We have been in our very modern church building coming up on 4 years now. We have the huge line array speakers, flown time aligned subs etc. They tuned the room and dialed in the system for about a week before we opened. I played bass for the first couple of years regularly until I had to give it up. That said, I have watched a multitude of bassists and basses come through here. We've had killer players using anything from Sire, Music Man, Fender, Yamaha, G&L, Lakland, MTD (top of the line 535) to everything in between. I'm sure I missed some. I kid you not, this MetroExpress is the best sounding bass I have heard in the building yet.....it tops them all. I've also seen a few different guys use this bass and it always sounds on point so I'm attributing alot to the Sadowsky! I've got my first gig in a few months coming up here in a couple of weeks so I might have to borrow the ME again to get the job done! Just my .02

After playing mainly Elixir strings for 20 years I tried to get used to the strings that my latest sadowskys came with. They really sound better on a Sadowsky. (And probably on my other basses to) So I ordered new ones. Yeah!!!

The unavailability of Sadowsky strings strikes me as kinda strange. I doubt the manufacturer, who is likely another popular maker, has changed. So, it’s just the distributor that has caused the problem?Doesn’t seem like it’d be such an issue to keep them available. They gotta be losing a lot of sales.
