Club Sadowsky!!!

Replaced the Sadowsky 105 steels on my new metro Will Lee with DR Sunbeam 40 -100s. They are what I use on all my basses so feel more natural to me when I swap instruments, plus I prefer the lower tension. Only had to intonate and raise slightly the E, everything else remained spot on. Tone with the DRs remains excellent as expected, plenty of options on the control panel to match any string change. Taking a bit of time finding the right strap height for me on this bass, its slightly different body compared to my Fenders seems to affect where I rest my arm. All part of growing into a new instrument and becoming one with it.

Yes, it is that lower tension that makes them easier to play I think. I started to use them on basses which seemed to have problem necks, then liked them so much I put them on all my basses. You are right, 45 - 100 is the gauge. Love them and the Sadowsky seems to sing with any string.

I think it was someone in this thread that said they had the middle two dipswitches up on their Will Lee preamp.
(this is not one of the factory listed suggestions)
So far, I really like that a lot, playing along with the stereo, which is all there is for me right now, all the clubs and bands being shut down. It's bright and grindy. Cool.

Interesting. I must try it since it apparently does no harm to the circuit.
