Not to assume intentions one way or the other, but I suspect that @cxcxcx 's post is being misunderstood. His output in this thread indicates a long-time appreciation for Sadowsky instruments.

Guys, as shown by this gentleman, research someone before you pass out the torches and pitchforks. That action would prove that I have always spoken authoritatively about and appreciatively of the Sadowsky mark. I grew up in the NYC area. Too young to drive at the time, I took the train into town to Roger's shop while he was still in Manhattan and virtually unheard of. I was out in clubs, playing a Sadowsky 3-5 nights a week nearly a full decade before Talkbass existed and long before a large portion of this club ever heard the name.
If you want to get angry about something, ask me what a fully-appointed Sadowsky cost new in 1990. Unlike most, I don't have to Google it or make a phone call to Long Island City to ask.

I don't always use 'em either, and sometimes suffer the consequences. Which is reasonable... I shouldn't assume everyone will give me the benefit of the doubt, or do the research necessary to determine whether or not I'm being facetious.
I was once looking at purchasing a Fender P AVRI instrument from a Nashville touring pro. I learned he had it in the shop recently. I was polite and asked some questions. Something did not feel right. I finally asked if he could tell me the neck relief measurement of the instrument as compared to a specs. He retorted that us TalkBass amateurs think we know what a properly set-up bass is, but that we don't what a pro set-up is. I quickly figured out he was trying to move on a defective neck to an unaware buyer. My TB amateur education saved me in this 'deal'. My bass may say NYC and seem snobby, but that comes with a good education from a master builder named Roger.
I bought a Sadowsky pre amp for a recently purchased RSD. I am a little lost on where to attach or solder the two pickup hot wires . The directions lead to the two slots that I highlighted. My question is do I try and solder the wires there or is there some type of connector that I am missing? I went to the Sadowsky site but this pre amp doesn't match up to any of the 4 knob units Roger has listed. Help!

Did you buy a replacement onboard preamp mounted on a plate like this? The pick up hot wires go into the green assembly pointed out by the red arrow. You insert the individual wires into the holes towards the bottom and then screw them down from the top - The screws the are gray circles with the crosses in them.
I’ve never seen a Sadowsky product like the one you have pictured. I’ve also never seen an RSD and never looked inside one - is that the stock preamp for the RSD in your picture? Prior to the move to modular systems the pick ups on the Sadowsky preamp setup mounted directly to the pots.
Some photos taken from farther back would help - I’m really scratching my head on this one.

different set up than I’m used to. That said, I’m pretty sure that the circled area in this photo below is where the hot leads go. It looks like your initial thoughts were correct. The online instructions for this pre go to a dead link - the only ones online are for the older ones as I pictured above, which is a pre-Warwick unit.
My experienced guess is probably correct, but I would consult with someone who really knows their stuff locally to make sure you’re setting it up right.

I bought that same preamp from Thomann and I just put it into my jazz bass. The little “slots” is where you place your pickup leads and then solder to the front of the slot where the metal is… if you need any help, PM me. Good luck!
Yes, that is kind of what I figured but I just had a feeling I was about to screw it up. Did you solder it when it was out of the bass to make it easier. That is to bad they just didn't give you a wireless setup there. What bass did you install your unit?
No, I just soldered it with the pickups run through the body. I am not the greatest at soldering, so if I can do it, I’m sure you won’t have a problem
I put the preamp into my Schecter Diamond J-5 Plus. The Sadowsky pre sounds amazing with the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders that are in it
I am just a little concerned with the board melting when applying heat. Did you just apply the iron to the small metal groove and then go for it.
