Seems like Sadowsky is turning into Ibanez! With all of their newer cheaper lines, does one still have to order an NYC to get 70's pickup spacing or a 1.75in 5 string nut width?

With my licensing partnership with Warwick, I am pleased we can do "less expensive (not cheaper)" lines as I understand my NYC price point is beyond the budget of many. I suggest you email Hans Peter Wilfer, owner of Warwick directly, and suggest that they offer a production MetroLine J with 70's pickup locations and a 5-string with a 1.75" nut. I am sure this would not be done in the MetroExpress Line, but it could probably be done in the MetroLine.

It has always driven me crazy how difficult it is to install strap locks on normal straps as the hole is too small. And if it is difficult for me, I can't imagine how difficult it is for others. I have all of my straps made with a 3/8" (9.5mm) hole for that reason.

A good number of times I've used a hand reamer to enlarge those holes--on straps other than Roger's. Yeah, it's a tedious process.

I don't agree. If you are talking about a Les Paul, where the top is 1/2" thick in the middle, you are 100% correct. However, our tops finish out to about 1/10" and I do not hear any tonal difference regarding all the various figured tops we use.

Interested to hear your thoughts on ash/rosewood and alder/maple...
Are they not as common as the standard ash/maple and alder/rosewood combos for good reason, or just cause that’s what Leo had laying around?

Had the first 3+ hour gig tonight with the new Neostrap. I usually feel something after a long gig... my Verdine 5 balances so well with this strap I could do 3 more hours. No shoulder discomfort at all.

Liked it so much I got home a little bit ago and ordered another one for backup before they were all gone.

With all the Sadowsky Neo strap love going on, I'll put in a vote for the Sadowsky leather padded straps. I bought two a couple of years ago, one in black, one brown. Strap locks on one, not on the other. I use them on every bass I own, they are the most comfortable strap I've ever tried. Not too bulky, high quality feel. Not sure if they can can be purchased anymore, however.

Thanks to Roger’s closeout of the long Neostraps, I have at long last confirmed the absolute perfect strap length for my 6’1” frame. It’s 54”. Makes it so much easier to play and provides a more natural stance than even a 52” strap.

I cannot tell a lie. I ordered 3 more, leaving (at that time) 10 for my brothers and sisters. Do not delay. I purposely did not order one for every Sadowsky. They will have to share.

Also be looking for some nice, slightly shorter straps to appear from time to time in the Classifieds.
