LOL…true. That’s why it just leans up in the corner…couldn’t figure out a socially acceptable way to hang it!

Interesting topic…just hung mine recently in my new house and decided to make my own hangers. I used black walnut blocks and 1/4” lag bolts. The heavy duty steel tool hooks have had the nitro-unsafe rubber coating removed and replaced with 100% natural cotton cord wrap over cotton cloth...the grey rubber caps on the ends don’t come into contact with the bass and cover the end of the steel. The hooks have weight rating of more than 3X what the Hercules hangers are rated for…but I admittedly tend to over-engineer anything I make, especially when a Sadowsky is going to be hanging from it!

I'm personally all about storing back in the case, but you did a great job with these.

What is the difference in sound, capability, and look of the Sadowsky Super P vs standard P pickups?

Can anyone point me to pictures of the Sadowsky super P pickup?

This is my setup now - but when I finished the basement (where my music room/office is right now), I had the wall behind the sheet rock reinforced for these hangers. Now that I’m moving upstairs, I switched to a slat-wall system.

I have wall-mounted Hercules hangers right now - never had an issue.

However, my daughters are both getting their own rooms now, so I'm switching rooms and decided to get a new system for my room.

I went with these guys: Guitar Hanger MX™ | Multiple Guitar Hanging System by diamondLife

Pricing seemed reasonable and I really like their options.

Anyway, they have this fine-print on their site:



I'm guessing that they're just saying that to cover their butts and I'll likely be fine, but even String Swing has this in their FAQ:



And then in their disclaimer, they talk about the possibility of marking instruments and having a different material option:



Again, it's probably safe and they're likely just covering their butts.

I'm just a "better safe than sorry" kind of guy and don't mind the extra expense of throwing some protection on my hanger if it saves me money down the road. Boy, that sounds weird. *AHEM*

I'll keep looking - and maybe try the clear tubing route if necessary. Or, I'll just make my own.

I’m using a similar slat- type hanger. I think it’s the diamond life brand. I’ve had it up for a few years and I really like it. Not the greatest pic, but you get the idea.

AFAIK the P is a 2 way toggle, P and reverse P, not sure if it's a 3 way for both coils. The super J is a 3 way for either coil and both.

That is one sweet bass. I always liked the Sadowsky P basses, sorry I ever sold my Original P. It came with a mint guard, I had Roger make the Tortoise guard. Would love to have it back.

Great question! I deeply love reverse P, particularly on Yamaha BB2000 basses. Observations from the wild will be most interesting...

I have a reverse P Overwater SDJ model and I absolutely love it. The bass is a different animal compared to my Verdine White or NYC PJ but it has the absolute best P tone I've ever owned. Not a Swiss army knife like my Sadowsky's but not a one trick pony either. Reverse P is absolutely awesome.
