I did the same and I am not looking back
No regrets then? I've only had two of the basses I have now for a few months and they're both really very very nice basses. But that dang GAS!!!

One month ago I owned a Lakland 55-94 and a Nordstrand Nordy vj4 - both of which I loved to death.
I was moving to Arizona from North Carolina and wanted to check out a certain bass at the Atlanta Bass Gallery and figured I'd stop there during my road trip.
Happened to stumble upon a Sadowsky MV5 and played it for the heck of it. Put it down, played a bunch of other basses, picked it up again etc. etc. I told Jim, the owner, that the Sadowsky ruined every other bass there and after some wheelin' and dealin' found a way to take it home with me. No longer own the Lakland or the Nordstrand but use my Sadowsky for EVERYTHING and have done nothing but thank God/Jim/my Wife/Luck since I stumbled across that bass.
The Nordy and the Lakland covered a lot of ground and were great basses but no regrets here at all whatsoever. The Sadowsky fits everything I do and the only GAS I have is for a fretless Sadowsky

I'm hesitating a little because I've never played one of the PJ's before, but I had a Fender P for years and years and loved it to death. But I also have the MIA Fender that I really like. This new bass I'm looking at would weigh the same as my Fender, and I really should get a lighter bass (it's a bit over 9 lbs.) but I love that transparent blue. Ahhhh!

I bought a Vintage 5 string about 10 years ago on a call from Evan S. @ Bass NW. Picked up a 24 fret a couple of years later, and have sold off everything else except for a '65 P. (that I would sell to turn into a P/J 5). Have had NO (zero) problems with either.
You know that old story about telling your wife "Honey, this is the last bass I should ever need...". it's the truth...well almost
so I don't have to worry about that.
Yeah I've owned Fenders in the past and they got the job done for lots of dates. I think a big part of me having no regrets is because I was able to A/B my main player with the Sadowsky and also with a bunch of other basses for a few hours.
By the way the Sadowsky made it to Arizona and played just like it did in Atlanta...like a dream! My other bass needed quite a few adjustments to get the neck back so it was playable again.
I wish you could play the Sadowsky because that would put your doubts to ease. There is no way I would have traded my Lakland or sold it beforehand to purchase the Sadowsky...but since I got to play it - it wasn't a tough decision
Honestly, I think my biggest fear is that it won't be that much better than my Fender and I'll have spent all that money for nothing.Sounds wonderful.
