Technically, Roger isn't selling those basses, Warwick is with a history of quality control issues coming from the Chinese factory. It's hard to say whether the bridge is misplaced or not from the pic. It could be moved slightly forward of the usual placement and still be able to be intonated correctly.
You guys got it all backward! The neck got too long and one crafty worker saved the whole bass by correcting the bridge position!
Seriously though, the saddle positions look about 1 cm off from the positions on my German MetroLines. If that is the distance the bridge is off all is good.

exactly how are you measuring that? i find it extremely hard to believe they would sell an instrument that could not be easily and correctly intonated.
maybe give us specific pictures you're using to compare? that might help.
There must be 34 inch scale, don't you think?
And did you mean too close to the neck? or too far from the neck? I can't see there any abnormal. although.
Nice. That's the first bass that gave me GAS in at least the past 5 years.
Okay, the roasted maple neck isn't as bad as I thought it might be. Some other brands have some heavy polyurethane over the roast and it looks cheap. But still not my fave.

Thoughts and prayers. Having had a daughter who was seriously ill and in and out of the hospital a number of years ago I feel your sadness and suffering. You are doing the right thing. Hang in there.
Left is a MIG, right is a MIC.
There is a pretty obvious difference in the placement of the bridge.
The MetroExpress bridge is mounted too far away from the bottom of the body and too close to the neck.
This has always been the case with the Chinese Metroexpress basses as far as I'm aware. I find it strange that they haven't changed this on the new model.
I'm not saying it won't intonate correctly, but it's in a difference place to all other Sadowsky basses so it will have an effect on string tension at the very least.
The SMX looks to be shorter scale.
I'm pretty surprised some of you can't immediately spot this difference as Sadowsky owners.

It would be interesting to see the full picture. Where does the corner of the pickguard near the G string end up in relation to the frets? If what you’re saying is true, they shouldn’t be similar.
The photos are of dissimilar scale, therefore not meaningful for comparison, and non supportive of the hypothesis.

It's a single photo with two Sadowksy PJ basses held side by side. Look at the two bridges relative to the bridge pickups and the end of the bodies. One should be easily able to see that they are in different locations. Since I don't have access to a SMX, I can't whip out a tape measure but the proportional difference is plain to see (to some at least).
maybe that's done on purpose. Why would Roger want a $1000 bass to compete or sound just as good as his $4000 basses?
I can't speak to that, but that seems like a silly change to make to differentiate the products...
Interestingly, the stock photos on Reverb appear to show that the bridge on the new MetroExpress is mounted in the same position as NYCs and Metros (ie the "correct" or typical position):

But the photos of actual production / pre-production models posted here seem to show that the bridge is mounted higher as with the previous MIC MetroExpress:

It appears that the saddles are adjusted much further back on the white ME which suggests the bridge is in a different location but perhaps within the range to still be intonated correctly.
