FYI, ordered the 18mm 5 string bridge from Warwick, ETA was 7 weeks, but ordered it last week and supposed to be here Friday. Currently in Germany, so we will see how realistic that is to make it to the west coast. Will take before and after pictures.

Got a Sweetwater email today that they are now distributing Metro Expresses.

Wow! Looks like MetroLine & MetroExpress now at Sweetwater. However, I’d call Jason at Fret Nation before you pull the trigger at Sweetwater.

I wonder if Sweetwater will offer Sadowsky accessories too. Like pickguards, hardware, pickups, etc.?

Well, I've got a NBD to celebrate though it's almost two weeks late as I've been too busy playing it to post about it until now:

Here's the rundown:

- P body
- 1 3/4" nut
- Super P and Super J pickups
- Reverse headstock
- Nitro '59 bust (with zero red in it)
- Custom-made anodized aluminum gold pickguard
- Nickel hardware
- Satin nickel knobs
- An absolutely killer relic job on everything from Lukasz!

To say I'm blown away by how great this build turned out is an understatement, and I'm truly grateful for how patient and accommodating Roger, Lukasz and everyone at the shop have been when I had questions throughout the build process!!

I'm still getting to know it and am learning about it's rather unique voice and feel, but this bass is a freaking monster and I'm super excited to get it onstage sometime soon!!

Thank you, I'm very grateful that Roger and his crew are so gracious with (most of) my weird ideas and implement them so wonderfully! In particular, I probably bugged Lukasz to no end with questions and tossing ideas back and forth and he was always very kind and patient with me!

Thank you! I don't know that nitro or relic work would be considered "standard", it was definitely an extra charge on my final bill for the work (very well worth it!!). I wouldn't want to speculate much further other than that, I'd just recommend you contact Roger and his crew to ask about it.

Amen! Absolutely killer build, and I LOVE the aged finish. Sadowsky offered it specifically for awhile as their "Vintiquity" line -- that was discontinued, but it's cool to know that it is still available on request.

I had asked about the fretboard wood because it looks very pourous, for lack of a better word, for standard Maple. It is very interesting, as is the entire bass.

Roger had the Vintiquity line of light relics in-stock but I haven't seen one listed on his website for years. I think Ken Black was doing the relicing.

I do remember watching an interview with Ricky Minor where he had a 4-string Sadowsky P (3TSB and Tort, of course!) and he said something like that, but it never occurred to me to ask about having it done myself until this build...I'd highly recommend it!!

I figured for anyone looking to commission an NYC build these would be two good examples of the amazing build quality at the Sadowsky NYC Custom Shop (though there are a TON of amazing builds from lots of others on this thread!).
