Did Roger offer this post-production mod? I would wonder if going back in and routing a finished body could be very difficult.
That said, as an owner of a SP/SJ bass, I'm finding the difference between 60's and 70's spacing to be fairly subtle... maybe even more so than I expected. I'm not sure it'd be worth all that work and expense. My personal feeling on it would be to leave the bass as it is.
I played my NYC Custom J/J 24-5 over the weekend. I also have my newer NYC Custom SJ/SP 24-5, older NYC Vintage J/J 5, Japanese ME Vintage J/J 5, and Japanese Metro P/J 5, which are also regular rotation, but I have to say my older and newer NYC J/J 5's are probably my faves. The newer NYC SJ/SP is awesome on every level, but I still favor the straight J/J config best I think.

Just wanted to publicly thank Roger for going way above and beyond with the refret he just did on a bass I bought from his shop 34 years ago this month. 
Roger put up with my particularities about how I like my setup, action, fret size, and just overall feel of the bass.
He could have easily said “This is how I do things and this is how my basses are set up”, but instead he did whatever he could to make a hack amateur happy and have the bass play the best way for me.
Anyone that’s dealt with Roger knows that his customer service is second to none, but he really went out of his way to work with me and it’s very much appreciated.

Hi, if I were to replace the s-lock on German metroline with Dunlop straploks, do I need to drill the hole deeper for the Dunlop screws?
no, I wouldn't. the dunlop screw will find its way down just fine.
That one caught my eye, too! I have been envisioning a build like that, though I was just thinking in the modern spots, but that is even better! 5 birds, one stone kinda thing - I dig it!
Here's the Mastergrade Quilt top for my new build, a 4-21 Vintage in Dark Caramel Burst (always wanted a Caramel Burst Sadowsky) with a Brazilian Rosewood board and Tort guard. Possibly an Okoume body, going for a 7.5-7.75 lb range. WL width neck, hum canceling in 60s position with coil cut switch, ordered on 7/19/23. Let the waiting begin. Oh, I'm sure the semi-creepy "eyes" will be under the pickguard.
