Club Sadowsky!!!

I am thinking about adding a P/J. I'd like to add another Sadowsky. I want to nail a good P-bass tone on those few occasions when I want it.

The P/J is the only one I haven't had a chance to try. Those of you with P/Js. Can you nail a good solid P sound? How is it in passive mode? I assume the bass sounds great blended, but I am most interested in the P only side.

If this has been discussed to death, can you direct me to a good thread?

Thanks!!

From my limited experience of only having my PJ for a few days, I'd say yes, you can get a good P bass sound. Very identifiable as a Precision bass. In passive mode, it's a little quieter and even more P bass'ish.

I placed my order with Kevin this morning.

NYC Vintage 5JJ
Caramel burst (quilted maple) on ash
BEM fretboard with MOP inlays
Vintage tint
Parchment pg
Chrome hardware
Sadowsky SC pups
SBN45B Blue Label nickels

I'm selling my NYC Standard 5 (#4709 mahogany/ebony) to help fund this. Time for me to get back to an ash/maple J-bass.

It will look like this (but quilted vs. flame maple)

Nice! Caramel burst is one of my favorite colors. That's going to be gorgeous with the quilted maple.

Wow Kevin... nice spec! I'd have to go with a tort guard though.
