It's two pieces. The ferrule and the Philips head neck screw. Looking for both assuming they are different part numbers.

I just learned that the German Sadowsky basses have Luminlay markers. Never realised though I've owned the bass for some time.

Don't see them available, not on the US website, neither on the German one. Maybe you can drop Sadowsky US an email.

I apologize if this question has been asked many times, still trying to get used to the search functions on Talkbass... If one wants to change the chrome hardware on a Metro bass to black, where can you get black neck ferrules and screws for a Metro bass? I emailed W distribution a few days ago and haven't heard anything back. Any info would be appreciated.

Everything is kinda easy to find and buy, except for the bridge. First, they're too expensive, plus the black version look cheap with those chrome springs and screws. Was cheaper and better going with a Hipshot instead.

I’m considering a lightweight German ML Will Lee 5. Are they neck heavy? Do they balance well? I can’t try ahead of time. Also can’t seem to find specs on nut width and string spacing. Anything else anyone wants to chime in on?

I have owned an MIJ ML before but it was heavy and didn’t balance very well and I could never get the action as low as I like. Besides that, it sounded great

NECK DIVE

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have had to have this conversation.
All Fender style basses (and many others) have neck dive when seated. It does not matter if the bass weighs 7 pounds or 12 pounds.
When standing, neck dive is a function of the strap you use. If the back of your strap has a slick material (vinyl, shiny leather, etc), you will experience neck dive.

If your strap has a backing that provides more resistance (cotton, suede or anything with a rougher texture, your bass should remain in place, even if you let both hands off of the bass.
All Sadowsky straps are designed to eliminate neck dive. We include a 3” cotton strap with all of our basses.

MD Stingray: You have to make sure you get a jack cup with METRIC threads for the MetroLine. Jack Cup 22mm Black with Jack and screws.
The Sadowsky Bridge does not look cheap.

Picked this MetroLine out of the classifieds last week. Been a while since I've had a five string. Loving the weight witch is just under eight pounds. Trying to get a handle on the VTC. Can't wait to use it with the band.

The VTC is just like any passive tone control. 10 is flat and you are rolling off a large swath of high end as you go down. You can roll off the VTC and boost the treble a bit to get a slightly tighter warm tone.

Maybe cheap offshore instruments are just not compatible with Roger’s vision and standards(?). These instruments could be judged more harshly because they have his name on them(?). But, that’s exactly what people are paying for.

The first itineration of the RSD MetroExpress did not meet my standards. Two years ago we moved to a new factory and I have been very happy with the Sadowsky MetroExpress basses. We have been making continuous improvements for the last two years. They are also easy to upgrade. At the present time, I honestly think it is the best bass for the money on the market. I will be going to the factory myself in October.

Do let us know how it sounds, I haven't heard of roasted Pine being used as a body material on a bass, so I'm interested to hear about it. Do you have access to another Sadowsky as a comparison?

Roasted pine is very light and does not get chambered. The tone is similar to Swamp Ash. As swamp ash availability has declined, Fender chose it to replace swamp ash in their production instruments.

Everyone’s body habitus is different and experience things differently. I am not going to argue with you about it. I will say that I have had very different experiences with different basses (some FSO and some not). I have arthritis in my spine and have had multiple shoulder issues so I may be more sensitive than others.

I will also say this, although I understand your feelings and frustration, imagine yourself being a patient in a healthcare environment (my career for the last 28 years) and you ask about a concern that you have and I responded in the same manner that you did. Would you feel good about that interaction? Because that does happen. Much like this is your job and you may get tired of addressing the issue, similarly we also may get tired of answering the same questions but I have to remind myself and my staff that for the person asking the questions, it’s not their job and it’s not what they do everyday.

Just a thought. I love your work and I am super excited to get this new Sadowsky bass in my hands in a few days.
