i half agree with this. I do feel the sharing of the model name between two completely different instruments can be a problem, but I wouldn't have stuck with the RSD brand as the answer. I think it should still have the Sadowsky brand and logo, just not be called a MetroExpress. Just pick a new model name.
Names are difficult, as you have to deal with copyrights, trademarks, etc. I read an article about the auto industry making up words for names, bringing back old names since they already own them even if it was for a completely different type of vehicle, and why a lot of them just use letters and numbers now.

The new batch on the website seems to have a 5-21 JJ in a Geddy Lee formulation. Tempting.

@deepestend, have you all sold any Tully signatures? I think his most recognizable bass is still the 1999 (?) white 5-21 PJ, but the sig is pretty cool for sure.
I see them separated out in the Sadowsky newsletter -- hint for non-subscribers!

After using my trusted NYC portabag for I don’t no how many years it was worn out.
So I took out the never used one I got with a masterbuilt German Sadowsky.
With my ‘66 jazz bass in it for today’s gig.
On the trainstation when taking it of this happened, the bass dropped on the floor.
In my 44 years of playing I never had that, not even with the cheapest gigbags.
Just like the German Sadowskys I don’t like their gigbags too.
(Yes, I’m very angry)

After two decades using my oldest NYC Portabag, the zipper became damaged beyond repair (can't complain, wear and tear happens over many hundreds of gigs). So, I got a new German Portabag. There are two "trim levels" these days, so I got the premium. I suppose I'm lucky because I have two other NYC Portabags to compare it to. I immediately noticed that the new Portabag was highly flexible compared to the NYC, which is built like a tank. So I sent the new one back for a refund (zero gigs). Got myself an Access Stage 5 (very similar to the NYC Portabag) and have been happy with that.
Yes I had the same feeling with the German one. Also the zippers aren’t very smooth. And this should be their top model…
