+1, and one of the best things about this bass is a TB'er built it! Yep, our own dragonbass made this one. :)

Let's say, "among the best". :) My 24F-5 (also a flamed spalted maple top, and also ash/ebony, btw), was built by Lisa, and the action is nothing short of amazing. :)

The photo is a little hot and burns some of the figure out of the top. It has this rich flaming across the spalt that is just beautiful. I'll take some better photos this week.

Very cool. We have really similar basses. You have some of the same cool flaming going on in yours too. Very classy basses.

I didn't realize Rob had built mine -- How did you know that BTW?

Mine was a total leap of faith. As odd as it sounds, I really expected not to like it! :hiding: I thought the Ash/Ebony thing wouldn't work for me - as I'm usually not a fan of that combo. Something about that combo and these pickups just kills though. The bass is an absolute monster. :hyper:

:ninja: Let's just put it this way... I don't think I'm "done" with my Sadowsky stable just yet. I still have one agenda on my Sadowsky todo list that hasn't yet been met. I don't currently anticipate a near term change, but let's just say I'm keeping myself informed as updates occur. :)

The interesting part of this is, I didn't actually order this bass new, but got it pretty shortly after it was delivered because, opposite your case, the original owner expected to dig it, but then totally didn't. I personally love the ebony ping thing, even with an ash body, and IMHO (and I suppose like you) feel it works particularly well with this bass' personality. In fact, the reason I ended up with it is because it's pretty much exactly what I would've ordered anyway, and the original owner knew that. Plus, aesthetically, the whole no-inlay black ebony fits so well with the black accent theme of the spalt and the black hardware. I love that look. :)
