+1 all the way. I totally dug the original Slim Bag, but between the newer model and the Portabag, it's the Portabag all the way... plenty of protection, lightweight, lot's of pocket space, and designed so that the smaller sized Sadowsky body fits perfectly (there is a removable padding section for full size J bodies also).

My vote is Portabag. I use mine all the time. It's much better than my other gig bags.
Also, on the P/J tone. I am looking to aquire one. Possible trade of the Modern 5 in my avatar for the right P/J. After I got the Jazz from Joel, the Modern isn't seeing much action. I thought I would run the trade idea here first since a Sadowsky would be my first choice for a trade. But if I post it I may add some other names.

Thanks! The plan is/was that this one is supposed to eventually be for sale when Roger calls me and tells me my custom order Modern is done - but I'm digging this one so much I have a feeling I'm going to end up with two Moderns!

What is the "exact" Will Lee model?? I mean what does Will have on his personal bass?? (woods etc...)

That UV P is going to be fantastic.
Will's current bass is an ash body with a morado fingerboard. Candy Apple Red. We have a new batch in the works and Will will have the pick of the litter for a second bass.

Yeah. I currently own one of these, tho I haven't officially updated my gear page. I'm really more of a J guy, but I've been massively GAS'n for a Sadowsky NYC PJ5 with the Alder/RW thing for years for certain settings. Played it at church yesterday and it RULED. Uber sweet tone and such a rich low end it really brought those low notes out for those nice sustaining pedal tones on certain passages. Who needs a pipe organ pedal section? NOT ME!

Did you pickup a PJ5? They are awesome. I've had my NYC Alder/Brazilian RW for years and I'll never part with it. It works so well in the mix. I've used it on a ton of rock and pop gigs. It's a work horse.

Man, I played one just like this one at the shop a couple weeks ago, when I was there to pick up my new NYC 5, and I was hangin with Rob aka Dragonbass. That bass was freakin amazing, it was black also, with a matching headstock Brazilian rosewood I think... either way it was to Die for, man... if you're into a real nice finger tone for funkin groovin, then this bass does it, thanks to its mid range switch, and when you're ready to slap, just dis-engage the mid boost and you have the funkiest slap tone around. Wow what a killer bass.... too bad it wasn't for sale, I think it was a NAMM show prototype...

Has anyone been able to spend some time with one of the new Metro P/J 5's ??? Would love to hear a field report.
New (for me) bass day! Thanks Roger and Kevin. You guys were the best as always. If you guys have a chance, come to my show on July 11th @ Sullivan Hall, I will be using this bass and my orange one (my main bass).
