Did you have them reroute it, or was it standard that way? Regardless, NICE. Mine also has the alder/Brazilian combo and it's really cool. :)

Hey Vic, I sold my HEAVY SVT-VR though. But that cash is spent on a Suhr Badger 18w head and a Divided by 13 2x12F cab....coming soon! (you know..guitar stuff)

Ive asked this in another forum, but didnt get much response. Im curious as to what your pickup height settings are on your PJ5's. I have the newer Nordstrand Offset Pole pickups in mine and I have battled with the pickup height settings to get an even tone across neck. The G string would sing, the D would be too loud, as would the A, and the E and B would be too low in volume with little sustain. Currently, I have mine set at 3/64 on the B side Jazz Pup, and 5/64 on the P Pup. On the G side the J is 2/64, and the P is 4/64. I also have noticed significantly lower output in the J pup, probably due to it being single coil vs. the P being humbucking. Im relatively happy with my current settings now, but for perspective, I would love to know your settings. I have a set of EMG PJ5 pickups on order that I think will make me happier than the Nordy's but I respect everyone else who believes that the Nordy's are the deal, Im just not sure theyre for me.

Hi,

I've had similar issues getting the height right on mine. I ended up calling the shop and Kevin told me to shoot for 1/8 on the bass side and 3/32 on the treble side. All with the last fret pressed down.

I keep the P pickup even slightly further away (lower into the body) across the board as it is noticeably louder than the J pickup.

I would also add that I do the usual Fender thing and have the P pickup higher in the middle screws just slightly to follow the radius of the neck somewhat, but not a lot.

Certain basses end up on my personal "do not sell" list. This PJ5 is one of them. I've decided that my Sadowsky Cherryburst Standard 5 falls into that category as well. I also have three Foderas that I will also never part with. Everything else is negotiable. ;)

I've got two new Sadowsky's coming up that I have really high hopes for too.

I have always had a similar do not sell philosophy but I am changing and now feel unless it is collectible and will appreciate in value than it is on the chopping block!

Great looking bass, Joel. Makes me want one bad.

But got to say "all I need is this lamp, that's all I need" started creeping into my head as I read on. :D

Really nice bass!! Any clips or vids where you can hear the bass a bit better? I gather you're using it with the DB750 and HS410. Comments? Ever played one with the standard soaps to compare it to?

Thanks Vic. I love it... the only thing is I want another one now. I don't have any other clips, sorry. That's just a "handicam" video, so the bass is non-existant.

I was using with the DB750/HS410 which was righteous, now I'm using with a Mesa Walkabout 112, and 112 extension - which is slightly less righteous but a lot less hassle.

I think the bass sounds decidedly suspect "solo", very clanky and bright, but in the band it's great. I want another now... ;)
