I played that one today at the shop and it kills. A really nice bass.

This bass actually got me thinking. Does anyone have any experience with Roger's fretless basses? I've played a couple over the years but never spent any extended time with one.

I'm wondering how a 24-5 fretless would sound... Possibly with Nordstrands.

I think the 24-5's sound killer with the stock Sad pickups, I'm not a fan of the nordstrand pickups. Yes, a fretless 24-5 kills...

That bass will probably smoke with an epoxied board.

Rob has done a killer setup. The bass plays sooooo smooth with no fret noise at all.

Regarding the one piece body. You guys have to see it to believe it...it has flames all over the place and the grain is simply stunning.

I'm heading for reheasal in 30 minutes. I'll post my review and photos tomorrow.
First impressions:
- killer setup by Rob (dragonbass).
- stunning piece of ash. (flamed, one piece, ...the best I've ever seen).
- great P tone (duh!)

Hey mates, can I join. I will have to relinquish my Lakland Club membership as I just traded in two of them for this 5-string Sadowsky PJ. I'm seriously impressed with this machine.

I was kind of hunting around for a P5 to go along with my Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn 5 (a really nice bass by the way, I had pangs giving it up). The Sadowsky has both J & P in one bass.

It has a lot of tones in it and it's nice going back to the 34" scale.

Nice job Mr. Sadowsky. Glad to be a customer.

Well...i got the bass (NYC 5/24, Koa top) in a trade, was totally unexpected I guess, and it was amazing, incredible playability, best n string ever... Etc. Etc.

I have a CallowHill coming that been on order for some time, which should be all I need and want for some time, and the sad was pure indulgence! Blissful indulgence no doubt, I'm sure illl custom order one one day.

Anyway, my dream electric resurfaced, and the original owner of the sad wanted it back, so he took it back, and I was gonna buy this guitar, the cooolest Tom Anderson T classic, butterscotch, dead sexy guitar. But around that time, the bills were piling up like nobodys business, so for the first time ever, I did the responsible thing and payed kids school fees etc with sadowsky money.
Sad story, but the 'hill will get the bills paid, and be awesome, I'd still love to get another sadowsky, truly beautiful basses, thanks Roger and crew for making such lovely machines.

Sorry to be long winded.... U asked. ;)

I ditched a 55-94 in the process of picking up my Sadowsky. Good riddance. Great bass, but I liked it a lot more before I played my Sadowsky. There was no hope for it once I played my bass, even though the Lakland did a lot of things well, the Sadowsky did what I wanted it to much better. I also noticed a big difference between 35" and 34". Welcome to the enlightenment.

I feel like a traitor for ditching my two Laklands so fast and swinging over to the Sadowsky side. I'm just an intermediate bassist of mediocre talent, but I can tell it's a much better axe than my Skylines and in ways I don't fully understand, I think it's forcing me to play better. Go figger. :hmm:

No need to feel like a traitor. A Sadowsky Metro is a TOTALLY different animal than a Lakland Skyline. I have yet to find a Skyline that I really like. And I have owned a couple of Sadowsky Metros and they were great basses. But, I do also currently own 2 Lakland USA basses that are killer. My 2 Sadowsky NYC basses are awesome as well. A Sadowsky USA to Lakland USA is a good comparison. Sadowsky Metro (hand made bass in Japan) vs a Lakland Skyline (Production line bass made in Korea or wherever they are made now). Not really a fair comparison. Especially when a Skyline is less than half the cost of a Sadowsky Metro.
