Must... resist... I want them both...

It is totally cosmetic and it happened in a single very cold night. I was in a panic when I took it out of the case and it was like that after a trip to Ohio. I called Roger about it and even though the bass was over a year old he offered to have it resprayed for me! I thought about it and knew that it would eventually just happen again so I left it alone. I think now that it actually adds a lot of character to the bass. This has been my number 1 for a couple of years now. I have been in the same place as SQUID where I just couldn't find what I was looking for. He and I talk every few days or so and I realized that what he was looking for was probably something like this bass. I have 4 other Sadowskys and have been playing my Alleva as my number 1 for a while so I offered to send him this bass to check out. My offer was to take it and play it and if he didn't like it I would pay the shipping back to me and he could stop losing money on every trade or sale. He and I have bought sold or traded maybe a dozen or more basses now so I felt really comfortable doing this for him. I had no doubt he would probably keep it so I resigned myself that if he really dug it and wanted it, we would work something out. Thats what friends are for, you know? SQUID is a great guy and deserves a great bass and I think he has one now. I still have 6 Great basses so I am just as blessed as he is! I have to admit though that I am going through a bit of a process of elimination myself right now but I just can't decide what to get rid of....
Enjoy her SQUID and don't you ever sell her without letting me know first!!!
BTW - Just wait until you get her on a gig or a rehearsal!!!!!!
Peace,
T

Thanks Tom.. You ar truly a great friend. If I would of bought a NYC Sadowsky 10 yrs. ago I would of saved a lot of money. But I guess it wouldn't of been as fun looking. You were right this bass blows away any Lakland Joe Osborn I have ever played and that was my favorite bass for over 6 yrs.
Thanks Again
God Bless
SQUID
I can get the USA JO tone + a lot more. This bass has single coils and a VTC which warms it up. This bass is a very warm bass even w/o using the vtc but you can make it passive to get even warmer. The Beauty about the NYC basses besides the graphite reinforced necks, thicker headstocks and much more are the chambered bodies. Such a resonant sound that no solid body can produce. This bass is a huge step up from any bass I have owned.
ONE LOVE
SQUID
Did you mean to post a pic? Hopefully? My NYC Ultra Vintage
Depends on the UV goals. If it was pretty strictly feel (like Sean says), tonal, and/or aesthetic, then as long as they met those goals, construction methods don't matter. I'm thinking it's mainly feel and aesthetic, and then "somewhat" tonal... just because as Sadowskys, especially with preamps, they're still not going to ever sound totally like an older passive Fender.Do the NYC Ultra Vintages have chambered bodies? Wouldn't that seem to defeat the "ultra vintage" point?
Which bass are you talking about?
