It was that bass. It has beautiful grain, the neck was fast, the sound was slaptabulous. If you can't feel the "True Sadowsky Vibe" on this bass something is just wrong wth ya. It was super.

Hey guys i just got my first Sadowsky (M3079), and so far its pretty damn sweet. I just need to ask a question though, cause this is my first 5 string bass as well...
Just, how 'tight' should the B string be on a typical Sadowsky fiver? Like my E-G strings are fine, but i'm not sure how this B should sort of...feel.... if you get what I'm saying. I'd really appreciate some advice or comment on this!

My 'B' feels like a natural extension of E-G.
I tried plenty of other brands that didn't feel like that, some like a wet sock.
I'd say the same feel and even-ness would be a major Sadowsy selling point for 5's.

That's a nice one. I had my eye on one just like it here in Sydney. Man the B string on that was the best I had ever played on any 34" scale string and as others have said it just seems to be an extension of the E string. Very balanced response to the other strings.

The B doesnt feel bad, I guess that all B strings are going to be a tad looser than the E string, but I'm just not sure how much give its meant to have, if you know what I mean.

Yeah Bro' I got to play one over at the George's Bass Gear Direct - the Sydney dealer for Sadowsky. It really was a great instrument and I was ready to jump on it but apparently someone else had claimed it. I thought you might have been the one
. Anyway he said he's getting more in so I'm hanging to see what does come in. I've looked at importing from overseas but after doing my calculations it worked better to just buy from the local dealer and not have to deal with the headaches with importing privately.
Yeah, the local Sadowsky prices are better than having to import, but my brother bought it in with him as his own (which it was, long story), no need to deal with the ridiculous customs hassle.

Got a question about p/j setups. What options are there for selecting the placement of the pups? How far away from bridge/neck etc.

My guess is that you, to keep it simple, can choose to put the bridge PU in the 60s or 70s position. When going NYC, I think that almost everything is possible though. There have been basses with custom PU placement. I've even seen one on TB somewhere someday.
