Club Sadowsky!!!

Hi all,

my long awaited Sadowsky UV has arrived. I've had very mixed feelings about the bass but I'll give a review after I will have gigged it tonight.
I definitely look forward to this. :)

I've just put on a pearl pickguard. I'm digging it so far. I like the black also for a classic look but I think the pearloid makes it a bit different. Here:

Which one do you prefer?
Pearl.

Normally I go nuts for pearloid with White pearl blocks, but I think the Black Guard looks more bold, classy and natural.

But either are fine. Just a preferential thing. Ultimately, they're both good.

I too am curious about your ambivalent feelings? Care to give a heads up in advance, and then follow up with a gig report? Also, does your UV70 have the VTC?

Wadge, I don't think you'll have mixed feelings after you gig it. When I first got my MS5 it sounded "ok" at home. From the first note on it's first gig, the band members were turning with smiles and nods of approval (I had been playing a MTD 535). I don't understand it, but it just puts out the right frequencies in the mix. Oddly, other basses that blew my mind at home just got lost in the mix. My MS5 puts out the tone I've had in my head all these years from deep punchy growl to smoking slap.

I have two Natural basses w/black pickguards; and I normally love that combination. However, on yours, I think that Pearloid looks out-friggin'-standing!

I am curious, however, why are you having mixed emotions about it (the bass - not the p/g)?

Again, lemme know if I missed ya and I'll add you on. (just let me know the date of you post of when you git your bass so i can attempt to keep it in order. Not a big deal really, but nice if I could!)

Mine in action!
