Alright, the Jig is up Chelios........ can I get an autograph:D Or maybe a free bowl of Chili?

JimS:

I've never tried a Modern 4-24. I spent a few minutes with a Modern 5-24, so can I assume it's in the same ballpark, tonally?

The Modern 5-24 I tried had a really interesting tone. Somehow more tubey/analog sounding compared to most active modern basses, yet still with the modern punch and clarity. I prefer the JJ singles, but I can see where I'd really like the Moderns, too as a change of pace.

It's pretty identical the Modern 5 except for the obvious difference is one less string. I tried a Modern 5 and was blown away but I prefer a 4 string. I was ******** for years. I kept waiting for Roger to make the M4 and forgot I could get a Modern Tele P-bass hybrid like Tom Hamilton; I don't need 24 frets.

My son is drummer for a grindcore metal band and he craps in his pants when I play the Modern through my Sadowsky SA rig.

When our bass player switched from his Fender J to the Sadowsky (PJ or Modern; he's borrowed both), we could all hear the notes much better and gigs were less muddy sounding. Everybody was blown away.

Yeah, that is one of my favorite painted basses, too. I really love the matching headstock with that particular color.

I've been supremely gassing over one to be a transparent orange MV5. Dear Lord. Swoon.
Here's something for those GAS pains...

Oh, I know where that beauty is at. He's the one that STARTED it! Him and Markus Bass's Invalid Link Removed.

But I won't change the color of my trans white one, despite how amazing the grain would be for a color like that.

Here's more orange for you to enjoy:) I'm playing for a University of Texas / Oklahoma football party tomorrow night, so the UT guys are gonna dig the bass color eventhough it's Candy Apple Orange instead of Burnt Orange.

Man, I'd REALLY love to try one of those J-24's someday. That looks awesome.
