Club Sadowsky!!!

I just took delivery of a couple sets of Sadowsky Blue Stainless steel 5 string sets. Can't wait to try them. But my current strings are only a week old, so I'm going to play them a bit longer before swapping.

Do you guys who love Sadowsky Blues prefer Nickel or Stainless on your Ash/Maple basses?

I like the Stainless on my Ash/Maple Sadowsky.
I posted a sound clip of it as well you can check it out HERE!

Nice tone Joey. Just sent you a myspace add request. I see you're in Shirley MA...my band's opening for Roomful of Blues at the Bull Run next Friday. :D

Thanks Craig! LOL, I could hit the Bull Run with a rock from my house. Maybe I will stop by and say hello to a fellow Sadowsky/TB brother!

Does that mean I need to watch for flying projectiles during load-in? If you must...please aim for the guitards. ;)

We hit at 8, and I'll be there at 4. Please do stop by and hang if you can.

While we're on the subject, for any of my NYC Sadowsky brothers who don't have a gig tomorrow night, we'll be at the Cutting Room for an 11:30 set (Special EFX is on at 7:30). Hopefully my good bud Kevin from Sadowsky will be there. Roger...you and the rest of the shop are invited too. :D

Personally I don't like stainless strings (I record a lot) but the Blue Nickels are fabulous!

I just got back Sadowsky #3333 with them on her and she ROCKS!! I had Rob L sand the neck, add a VTC, and do a FABULOUS setup!! THIS SETUP IS PERFECT!!! Thanks Rob!! I HIGHLY recommend if you want a different feeling instrument to have it set up CORRECTLY! The shop has done a number of them for me now and I can't tell you what a difference it makes!!!

Pics:

This bass has the Old Gotoh bridge with 19mm spacing and a 1.75" Neck....did you see that birdseye???? It is SICK!!! This bass is 8 years old and feels BRAND NEW! I feel very lucky to have it...

Peace,

T

Very Nice, T!!! I own it's cousin but, with a flamed board! Rob has helped me with setting up my bass as well. I can imagine it plays like "Buttah" as they say here in MA! :D

Actually, I really liked the original black label Sadowsky strings on the Modern... it was the J models where IMO it didn't fit very well. The upper mid voicing of the originals really worked well on that model of bass IMO!
Yeah, I remember that, and yeah, I don't dislike them on that bass at all, but based on what I'm hearing so far about the Blue Labels, I might actually still prefer them even on that bass. We'll see. :)

Tom,

Anytime, Buddy! That is a great bass, glad you digging it. Now go play it.:D

Rob

I wonder if he has DR make those for him.

Only if you want Dead strings out of the Package!:spit:
{No Offense to anyone who actually like them....}

No...DR does not make Sadowsky strings!

I should be checking out my first set of SS Blue's tomorrow, and on a J style bass, but that's not my Sadowsky.

I wonder what bass that is? Could it be a N.r.y?:D

"sanding the neck"? are the sadowsky necks not smooth enough already?

and yea, when the shop wasnt as busy and open to doing guitars other than something marked sadowsky, i used to bring ALL my guitars and basses for setups.

I'm guessing it wasn't sanded to make it smoother, but rather to remove the finish for a bare wood feel. Just a guess tho.

No offense, but yes. :) Check the N.r.y club thread for pics if interested. Passive, 70's pickup location, ash body, maple neck. Should be nice and bright and sizzly with those Blues on there. :)

Vic,

Yea..I knew it was one. I was on the phone with Carey when it was finished up.

Jae,

Tom likes his necks to have that "broken in, Played for 10 years " feel.
