is it possible to rout PJ5 metro into JJ but leaving the P hole?
so that i can switch pickguard and pickup and have JJ, and when i want PJ back i just put back P and PJ pickugard.

Man, Sadowsky stock updates are always sooo scary for me, but... I'm soooo totally happy with what I have right now it's not even funny.

I hear you...my little blue Metro's great, but that five-string from 2001 on the pre-owned page has me sweating.

Ugghhh. I have a serious problem.

Ever since I got that UV70, I play it every night from when I get home till I go to bed with maybe 1hr per night that it is not in my hands. I cannot stop staring at it, playing it, thinking about it.....

What do you put in those things Roger? There has to be crack or something. My wife made a comment to me the other night and it made me realize how addicted I am to this bass. I need another one!!!!

I'm interested in this...thanks in advance, Vic. FYI/FWIW...I've got the same software, and what I assume (Fastrack USB?) is the same interface. I strongly recommend going through your favorite DI ahead of the M-Audio box. The results I've seen/heard with my Radial JDI are 'night & day' better in terms of accurately capturing the character of the instrument...

I've never seen Roger offer this kind of modification service to a Metro. I think they pretty much leave the basses alone except maybe for pickguard swapping, or maybe electronics options. Part of the cost savings by not offering more options... just like the limited colors and such.

Yours looks the same as my # 3212. It is versatile, light, and (aside from having a .125" wider fingerboard than either my Reverend 5L or Ibanez BTB-1205 at the 12th fret) is basically comfortable to play.

Sustain for days, especially on the higher strings.

They are very addicting. I could use a new rig, but I also would love a 5 string to go along with my 4. Maybe a MS5 or RV5.

Just curious, did you get a weight on it? They don't chamber these to control weight, but I don't think they necessarily get super heavy either. The comparison page indicates they weigh 9-10.5 pounds vs the NYCs at 7.5-9, but mine ended up being relatively light for a Metro... at a little bit under 9 pounds.

They do offer this feature in the NYC basses, it's call the universal route. I'm just not sure they can offer this as a change after the bass is built. Roger will have to comment.

I'm not sure how that would be a benefit. So I play a gig on Wednesday where I want a P/J configuration and then Thursday I need a J/J configuration. Sometime in there I need to warm up the soldering gun, remove screws, strings, etc. undo the wiring, pull the pup, rewire, solder, remount everything and restring. And then redo it again for the P/J gig on Saturday? I don't think so.

It's done more often than you might think. Most use quick connectors rather than soldering. Pretty cool actually.
