To a 'natural born lefty', this sounds pretty funny - it is so hard to find affordable, good basses, and the used market for lefty basses (especially boutique basses) is almost non-existent.
I'd rather be a righty in that regard.... But it is an advantage that a lefty's bass is rarely picked up and played by others... pretty safe, on stage or in the practice room.

The audio came out great consider our singer's sister recorded it on a simple video 8 camera, I think. We were kinda sub happy that night but you can still here the bass guitar pretty good. Enjoy

I'm sorry, I understand that being a lefty bass player is not the most practical thing in the world.

I'm ambidextrous with most anything but playing the bass and writing.

I guess the grass is always greener....

A good friend of mine is a well known guitar player (Lefty) and he can play a mean righty upside down. I guess I envy that.

No need to be sorry!

I know a guy who's completely ambidextrous. He can write with both hands, without a trace of a difference... I really really really envy that.

I envy that ability of your friend, too - I never learned to play upside down, so there's no chance for me to pick up another guy's bass or guitar and play it... lefties are just not to many around here. Well, the guitar player of my sister's band is lefty (she is the drummer), so sometimes, we can swap instruments.

But hey.... a P/J coming soon, a very nice Sadowsky RV 5 Jazz.... can't imagine what else I'd need to be a happy bassist. :)

A brief experiment today. I picked up an Apogee one today and spent an hour or so tracking on the couch into the laptop. A single drum loop in Logic (I'm lazy), the PJ5 direct into the one, both acoustic guitar tracks recorded through the built-in mic in the one as well as the vocal. Everything one take. In this mix the bass doesn't really stand out but that's a good thing. It is panned a little towards the P pickup - I'm finding that I like that round tone, and in a mix any clacks/etc pretty much disappear. I'm amazed at how good the acoustic guitar sounds through the built-in condenser mic. The vocals? Well, let's just say I sound like Walter on acid...

edit - decided to eq some bass out of the gtr track (OM-21 actually has a lot of low end for the body size). Helps give the bass some room. Kinda. Sorta. And when in doubt, add echo to the vocals. And modulation. I need a "not suck" plug-in though...damn Logic...
