Club Sadowsky!!!

HI

Ive owned 4 Foderas including a VW and have had over 20 Sadowsky's. They are different things all together.

Rob

+1 Not better or worse (although the fretwork on the Sadowsky is WAY, WAY better than any Fodera I've played, and the weight is a dream).

I surely don't miss my Emperor Elite 5... but of course, I spent most of the time with it in single coil mode trying to make it sound like a J bass.. which it didn't:D The VW's are another thing all together though.

Hey all. My cover band posted some live audio clips on our site. Take a listen if you dare. Please ignore the mistakes though. I had a very off night...(typical disclaimer). The UV70 sits so perfect in the mix. I could not be happier. This absolutely blows away the two Fodera's I had in the past for sure!

The player is at the bottom of the screen and will start automatically. There are quite a few tracks on there, so feel free to skip some of the lame ones.

Nice tone, and a great-looking bass! I think that's the first time I've seen a black p/g on the Sadowsky bursts. I like it.

Just got my new seafoam green Sadowsky. My first Metro. So far so good.

Here's my Babies together.

They're all beautiful, but good Lord, that one on the right... Absolutely stunning!

Hi Paul,
A dealer like BC will only have Metros in stock (and maybe a used NYC). You'd have to go to the Sadowsky shop to try out a Will Lee (or purchase one on 7-day approval).

Cheers,
Kevin

Spoke to Grasshopper over at Bass Central two days ago and he said he has a black WL that they ordered a while back. Of course by the time I get there it will probably be gone. He does have a bunch of Metros.

I don't think that is possible. NYC's are only sold direct from the NY shop. Metro's are sold both direct at the shop and through retailers. Unless something changed.

Went to the Sadowsky shop and had the opportunity to play all the NYC basses in stock as well as a number of Metros, this bass somehow followed me home:D

Killer bass, I can't say enough good things or how well the Metros compared to the NYC basses....Just awesome!

Beaver the owner orders and buys them new via the manufacturer. He also usually stocks Fodera's, USA MTD's and other high end gear. They told me the bass is black with a maple board etc. not really the color I'm looking for. If your interested in the bass give them a call 866 802-2277 ask for Ed or Grasshopper. It was there as of a few days ago. They wanted $3775.00 for it.

Fodera and USA MTD's sell through retailers. Sadowsky NYC doesn't. That's not the issue we are talking about. Something funny going on here. My guess is it is 'used sold as new'.. probably on consignment.

It has nothing to do with being quality or upscale. It's just the way Roger does business... Metro's to retailers (and direct), NYC only direct.

Nice!!!!! I dig the UV's and that one looks particularly cool!

"Every Sadowsky Tuxedo comes with a matching UV70 bowtie"

Good gravy man, you wear you bass *high!*...;)

You like that Bose Stick? WE use those, I like 'em a lot. We don't run the bass thru ours though...

Hey Peter,

Nice catch, its funny the same happened to me every time
that I went for a visit. I hate when that happens....

If only I could find the white pearl bowtie in stock on their site. :D Believe it or not, I've actually lowered the bass a bit from when I first wore it. I may come down just a little more. I know the difference isn't significant, but this bass seems huge at times.

Bose stick. Love/hate. I have to admit that the vox, sax, and even guitar sound pretty good through the rig. Not a lot of carry in big rooms, and at that the sound waves seem to stay on a narrow line. In the right room, and when not being pushed, I'm continually surprised at the quality of the sound. But it's still Bose. Even if your sister is gorgeous, you don't want to give her a smooch, right? :D I will say the system has worked great for this band leader, and he loves it. And when I help load in/out, it's definitely easier on the back than a trad PA rig.

Kevin really did a wonderful job helping me out,
in addition to getting full run of the in stock NYCs he pulled
out the UV70, an ash/maple metro with 60s spacing and a
ash/maple Metro PJ. All really nice basses, including all the
NYCs I would have liked to have a/b'd this to the same spec
with single coils but one was not in stock.

BTW they've got a Ampeg micro stack in the shop, I
mentioned playing one at a local GC in the AC thread. It's a
cool little combo, within it's volume limitations
