It has nothing to do with being quality or upscale. It's just the way Roger does business... Metro's to retailers (and direct), NYC only direct.

KJung don't want to start any controversy but for the past few months the bass was listed on the BC website. It said (they have one Will Lee Model on order). When I called the other day they told me about the bass. They had it in the store and it is brand new. I am assuming Beaver Felton ordered it directly from Sadowsky. I am not affiliated with BC in any way other then a past customer. For the heck of it if you want give them a call or drop them an e-mail about the bass there pretty straight up guys. I'm about 180 miles south of Orlando but when I have time I am going to take a trip up if nothing else I'll check out the Metro's. I am saving for a WL model though.

I thank my best Metro dealers by permitting them to order an occasional NYC. Everything is cool at Bass Central!

Interesting. I have yet to hear one of those RH450's. I was hoping that one paired with my AE410 would be the ticket to help me consolidate my carry a bit (no need for a tuner pedal or compressor). But it sounds like you weren't blown away with the Sadowsky through that rig Ken.

MY LITTLE STORY ABOUT HOW THESE BABIES CAME TO MY HANDS:
I've been playing Sadowskys for 5 years and I never asked Roger to build me a bass like this because I had never seen this combo on the In Stock page; I thought that since they usually use solid ash for natural finishes the resulting full size P would be too heavy for Roger's standards. My PJ only weighs 8.4 lbs!
I've had it only for 6 months but it already has a lot of sentimental value (apart from being a fantastic instrument) because I have a little story about how I won it on ebay: I placed a bid on it like ten days before the auction ended. Early in the morning of the last day of the auction my baby girl 'knocked at the door' and I had to run to the hospital with my wife so I couldn't track the end of the auction; I lost all hope of getting the bass and I had already assimilated that some Sadowsky sniper was already celebrating the 'shot'.
My beautiful Nora was born later that day and when I came home for a shower I checked my email and found out I had won the bass. The 10th of July was my lucky day for sure.
