Maybe this is old news, but did anyone notice that Roger is now offering 24 fret Metro J basses? I noticed on the site today. Not my cup of tea but a cool option.

I have to post pics, but i recieved my Metro UV70 5 String last week.
Killer bass, however, I have a feeling it came with a bad B string, or maybe I just dont like the tone of tapewound strings, not sure, but the B didn't seem to be as articulate or focused as the other strings.
Setup was spot on on arrival so I ruled that out. I put an old B string (nickelwound and dead) that I had laying around and that string was an improvement, though with the rest of the strings being new and SS, it doesn't match the other strings either lol.
Anyway I'm going to swing by Sam Ash on the way home from work and I need to buy a new pack of strings to hold me over till I order a new pack of Sadowsky strings.
So, what strings do you like on your Sadowsky 5er's?
I'm thinking DR Hibeams, or maybe just some D'Addarios.
Any advice?

EDIT: Sadowsky Customer service rocks! Rob (dragonbass) contacted me after seeing my post and sent me a brand new set of Sadowsky Blue Label Stainless Steels. The bass absolutely slays now and the B-string is killer.

I have had a couple bad B strings. It's one of the reasons I'm generally not a fan of tapered strings. I've also had this problem on other brands, so it's not just Sadowsky. That said, I don't want to make it sound like they have a lot of problems... it is unusual. The only reason I point this out is because I DO recommend you get a replacement B before giving up on the Blues. I really love the Blues on my Sadowsky basses!
Otherwise, if you end up trying DR, I can highly recommend the LoRiders if you want a stiffer feel and lower action, and a bit more grind, otherwise, the HiBeams are slinkier and have a bit more high end sizzle.

This is my fourth Sadowsky and I want to order a p-bass now.
Ideally I would like to have a JJ in alder/braz, a JJ in Ash/Maple, a P-bass in Alder/braz and a P-bass in Ash/maple.
And a Will Lee

I can't wait anymore. Its been almost a year now since I've decided I wanted a Ash/Maple combo in my arsenal. I really can't wait to have that tone that only Ash/Maple can produce. IMO
This bass will have a Will Lee dimension neck but with 21 frets.
