Cool. Ill give it a listen. I was about to order one a couple years back. I tried 2 or 3 at the shop. The reverse P really sounded tight and punchy. Swiss army knife of basses if you think about it. If I was a 5 guy Id be all over one. Cant go wrong either way.

Yup! I am pretty sure I am going to go with a reverse P......really like the tight and punchy sound. I'd love to know the specs on the bass in that clip though.......really nice sound.

Wow. Clip sounds killer, Cory. Great player and tone. Wonder how it was recorded?

Another combo to consider is Ash/Morado, reverse P. I had an ash/morodo JJ which saw over 1000 shows. It really had a great tone. Snappier that traditional rosewood but not as bright as a maple board. Great bass that was. Sold it to get the WL. NO regrets there.

Im sure you'll figure it out. You've owned enough of them to know what makes you smile

Cool little Sadowsky accessory: Batt-O-Meter - Bought one last month from the Sadowsky store.

Measures battery through input jacks (bass, guitars, pedals, etc.). It reads voltage and hours left on battery with it's microprocessor.

No more opening up things to measure the battery. My NSD CR5M requires removing it's double bass strings to get to the battery (showing 92 hours left). I can measure the battery on my 12-string acoustic without loosening/removing all the strings! :hyper:

It can also measure external 1.5v, 3v, and 9v batteries using external contacts. Then it reads voltage and % battery left.

My VPJ5 new battery (100%) starts with 342 hours (14.25 days with no sleep) left. Roger found a great little gaget!!!

SUPER! I had posted a question about this in the "Effects" forum but got only one reply. And no pros/cons comments.

I know fully well that Roger just doesn't promote junk on his website but I just wanted to get another opinion before I went for one.

I've been using DR Low Rider SS on my ash/maple nyc pretty much since I got it. For my style etc. I can recommend them.
I also like all the Sadowsky string too, Black and Blue. Right now I'm preferring the tension of the LR though. For flats the Sads are the money, love them.

Yeah, I looked into these and they're pretty cool, but they only work properly for 9V systems, so I couldn't use it with a lot of my basses, and I very rarely use effects. Still, for the money, seems like a good deal.

Works great except on instruments with 18V preamp. The Batt-o-meter only reads up to 10.23v. So I can't get a accurate reading of my Tobias which has a 18V Bart preamp. For my Sadowsky basses, it works great.

Considering 18V preamps are not that uncommon, I am surprised they did not make it to measure up to 18Volts.

My PJ5 doesn't have a reverse P, but assuming that doesn't make that big of a difference, the 24 Fret 5 sounds nothing like the J's and PJ's to my ear. Not even close. The 24F5 is all about mids. ALL about mids. Doesn't have the same big round low end as the J's and PJ's, doesn't have the same low treble grind, mainly due to the pickup type and placement. Bottom line is, they are totally different animals.

I agree that the 24 fret is a whole different animal. I was curious with the P reversed (moving the pups a little closer to the bridge) would this sound more along the lines of the 24 fret or still keep the PJ sound (maybe making the low end a little more responsive?). I don't have a PJ5 or a P5 (wish I did though...maybe soon). I am really digging the clip of the reverse PJ5 on Roger's site. But thought I'd ask before pulling the trigger

IMHO the reversal of the P pickup wouldn't do anything to make a PJ sound more like the 24 Fret. Still very much apples/oranges. It'd still very much keep the PJ sound.
