For me, I tried the Hi-Beams and did not like them. My UV70 (with singles) sounds best (to me of course) with about month old Sadowsky Blue Nickels 40-125. They have the perfect amount of bite and smoothness to them without being harsh or clanky. If you go to Link Removed and listen to the MJ Medley in the player at the bottom, you can hear what I am talking about.

One of the reasons I stopped selling the Comfort Strapp was because of the cling factor, making it hard to reposition your bass without repositioning your shirt at the same time. The NeoStrap has a neoprene interior and a nylon exterior so it does slide easier on your shirt.

Cool playing and you got some nice audio out of that...MY UV70 is ash maple so I'm going for a slightly different tone, but I like the tone you've got very much too.

Kind of a trip as I went through a similar experience with my UV70. Tried Fatbeams, expecting to love 'em, and actually thought less of them than the Sadowsky SS strings - Black and Blue. Thought about going with Sunbeams, only because they sound so incredible on my Lull, but decided against it...on that bass the Sunbeams actually seem to lower the midpoint, where on the UV it seemed like I needed to raise it. The answer, thus far at least, has been Cleartone nickels. I'm really liking them, but am considering Sadowsky nickels for the next swap.

Ok, I thought the Comfort Strapp also had that same nylon interior, and it was just a matter of how much cling is clingy to someone (it's been a long time since I had my Strapp). To me, a strap that doesn't cling at all pretty much has to be made of smooth leather. Any kind of fabric on a strap at all, and there will be at least some cling factor, though I will say I've never been bothered by the Sadowsky strap at all, and would not personally consider it "clingy".

Love the staps. I kinda wore out the first one and RS got me another one. The 2nd one had better reinforced leather ends and the leather part was thicker so the locks didnt come out. I like them cause they dont grab your shirt or jacket when you play. Nice and wide, lightweight

HUGE +1...I used D'Addario and DRs for years and switched to Sadowskys after the shop sent one of my new Sadowskys with Black Label nickels. Later I got another Bass from them when the Blue Label Nickels came out and had them string the new bass with them. I have tried several other strings since but gave up and have accepted that the Blue Nickels or the Sadowky Flats are pretty much the ONLY string I will use on any of my basses. I HIGHLY recommend you try a set!

As far as the strap goes I have probably bought a dozen for guitars and basses over the years and I love them. I got a MONO strap free to try when I bought a couple of cases and bags from them. I liked the strap and used it for a while...UNTIL I did an A/B with the Sadowsky...NO contest. The Sadwosky NEO definitely felt better and was not as bulky or sticky. The NEO does NOT cling to you at all like the Comfort strap does. I think ANY non leather strap probably will cling to some degree but the NEO is very minimal...I sold several comfort straps I had and I think I wound up giving away a couple as well just to clear out some stuff. I would also venture to say that in my experience anything with the Sadowsky name has been first class and exceptional quality at every level. I currently use Sadowsky straps, strings, Outboard DI, and cases! I am hooked, what can I tell you! Needless to say the Customer service is extraordianary as well....

Tom: I concur.
I recently tried Sadowsky Black and Blue, Steel and Nickel, on both my RV5-JJ and RV5-PJ, and for me, the Black Nickels are the best combination of fat, warm, articulate and aggressive top end. Love 'em.

I can't remember if or where I read this.......

Can anybody answer which type of Sadowsky string (Black or Blue) has the higher string tension? Does one have a higher tension over the other? I can't remember where I saw a chart or something of the sort that described the two.

I've been playing Sadowsky strings for years.........and like everything that has Sadowsky stamped on it.........well, you know.....they are great!

You are totally right......the necks are the best feeling Sadowsky necks ever. Impressed is an understatement when talking about the WL. I've been playing Roger's stuff since 1991 and when I first opened the WL, I was like.....well.......:D:bassist::D:bassist::D. These necks SMOKE!

I think a PJ with a WL neck would kill.

I've been wanting to order a PJ 5 for a while and have been trying to decide on what woods to go with and whether or not to get a regular or a reverse p.

BUT........a WL PJ 4 would blow that thought out of the water for a while.
