HI
So which one is your fave out of the 5 and why?
Rob
Wow Rob! That's a tough question. I'm trying to figure out which one I like the least because I think I should sell one and that's tough enough.
My new V4 Ash/Birdseye Maple with singles is incredible. (Made by Rob) I didn't want another Will Lee because I don't really use the mid boost so I ask the shop to make the neck at 1.45, so they had to do it by hand and I think it feel better then my WL. Its out of this world.
My Will Lee is Ash/Braz with singles and its all together an other animal. Super fast neck but a more mellow tone. Very vintage. I love it.
My other V4 is Ash/Mad is also amazing but with a more modern tone. It as the Humcanceling. Its my Jazz gig bass.
My RV4 is something else. When I bought it I was a little scared because I already owned two NYC. I was worried it wouldn't play as well and it would be too heavy (9 lbs). But believe me, I was so wrong. This is my go to bass. Its such a player, its unbelievable. I don't care if I ding it a little. I'm still wondering why the x owner sold it to me. And I believe he regret it. I'm not saying it plays better then my NYC's, no, no,no I'm not. Ye..NO whatever.
My P bass is an entirely different experience. I've owned 4 Fender P in the pass and always end up selling after a couple months. But a Sadowsky P is something else. I have the J neck so its the same as my other J's. It cuts through the mix like a chainsaw. It is a much more aggressive bass. I love it.
How can I sell any of them? Its impossible
It seems like you have all the bases (basses!?) covered. I'm not sure that I would be thinking of selling any of them with that rundown.![]()
On another note, I've been thinking of my next Sadowsky purchase and was wondering if they could do a bass like the one below, except with a standard PJ5 configuration. Not sure if it would work with the pickguard or not, but I saw an off-brand four banger in similar format and really liked the look. I'd either go with 59 burst and a parchment\mint guard OR see if they could do a nice gold with parchment. I wonder if a cream guard or perhaps cream pickup covers would be possible?
Not sure if I would go with RW or maple - not sure how maple would sound with a PJ configuration...
