Nice!!! I don't know what it is, but I cannot stand mahogany basses. My old Fodera and my first MTD had mahogany bodies and they just left a sour taste in my mouth. But... chocolate sauce on Prime Rib!!! Yes!!!!!! :D

That's pretty much it right there. This is what Will Lee chose, and what Roger and he drew up over some experimentation.

FWIW, you can make the mid boost pronounced or subtle; there's a trim pot for how much boost you want. It's a nice bonus to have, and the genius is that once it's set, it's easy to turn on or off. No fiddling with knobs to get the blend right -- just two different flavors of kickass.

To be honest, it really doesn't make me all giddy, just an excuse to try and talk myself into a Sadowsky!

Your right, a JJ would do me just fine.
So, I have my old 88 Streamer posted and when it goes, I'll be on the hunt.

And *MAYBE* down the road bounce my 55-94D and jump up to a fancy NYC thingy.

But for now, I'm looking at something along a MV/RV4 (or 5 if the right one pops up).

Its not enough of a difference IMO to make you somehow like the JJ sound. A JJ tone is a JJ tone with singles or Hum. Its doesn't become a different bass because you change from hums to singles.

I know I know. I like the singles better my self but I like the JJ tone to begin with.

Yeah, I think it is just an inherent nature of the beast but a guy can dream. For whatever reason me and PJ are sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. Me and JJ keep ending up in divorce court.

Yeah, I also agree with others on this, and I have all three examples, and all in the same ash/maple wood combo, so a good basis for tonal comparison... PJ, JJ/HC, and JJ/SC. The JJ/SC sounds nothing like the PJ. That P pickup makes a HUGE difference in the nature of the sound. HUGE. If you're a PJ guy, just stick with that.
