I was so excited to see those beautiful DB112 tweeds that I 'saw' a ThunderfunkI love that combination. Interestingly, the AG500/DB's doesn't do it for me... too floppy down low, enough punch... a bit 'muddy' in the mids to my ear.. although it still of course sounds good... just not 'perfect' to my ear like the Thunderfunk.
BUT... that AG500 and Berg HS210 is the best combination I've ever heard with the AG500. It sounds great. Something in the voicing of that HS210 tightens up the Ag and makes it punch more. The HS210 is not going to give you the volume of two DB112's (no 210 will). It will sound great though, but you will lose some volume and low end IMO and IME.
Thanks for your reply, it really helped me with the decision.
That's what i suspected, less volume (that's ok, i've never used more than 12 o'clock with the aggies) and less low end, after all it's 2x12" vs 2x10"... my idea is, if i miss the low end i'll buy an HT112ER later on to use on bigger venues...
