The Sadowsky preamp sounds pretty awesome even if you don't use a lot of the boost! I think I usually keep the treble and bass at about the 50% mark.

Only if you don't then compensate with the volume control, and/or, set your rig's gain stage up with this accounted for. I've heard of people doing this before as a way of getting the same result as if you had the ability to cut mids.Wow, that's quite a lot to my ears

BTW, the single coils are AWSOME! I definately get more low mids in my tone and nice overall GROWL! I'm still able to dial in plenty of top sizzle if I need it.
I use the boost just to thicken my signal some. I just found that about the 50% boost mark on the bass and treble seem to be the sweet spot for me. I have plenty of bass and clear high end. Sweet, sweet lemonade!
I like bright tones and use a tweeterless bass cab, so I sometimes have treble boosted even more than 50%. My bass control will occasionally come up to 50%, depending on the room and my mood.

What cab are you using? I've never been a fan of tweeters, but now I'm starting to hate 'em. I have two Aguilars, DB112 and DB112NT and I keep the tweeter turned off all the time.

Not a ThunderFunk but an Aguilar AG500SC,
and i'm selling the DB's to get a Berg HS210, do you think it'll do the same job as the two DB's?
Do the Berg HS210 make a good match with the AG500?
I want to reduce some weight and size.

I was so excited to see those beautiful DB112 tweeds that I 'saw' a Thunderfunk
I love that combination. Interestingly, the AG500/DB's doesn't do it for me... too floppy down low, enough punch... a bit 'muddy' in the mids to my ear.. although it still of course sounds good... just not 'perfect' to my ear like the Thunderfunk.BUT... that AG500 and Berg HS210 is the best combination I've ever heard with the AG500. It sounds great. Something in the voicing of that HS210 tightens up the Ag and makes it punch more. The HS210 is not going to give you the volume of two DB112's (no 210 will). It will sound great though, but you will lose some volume and low end IMO and IME.
Wow Chef, I'm just the opposite on that one. I think P bass bodies look much more symmetrical as P/J's personally. J bodies look a bit cluttered to me with P pickups. I guess that's why Roger offers both, P bodies for people with good taste, and J bodies for the other guys.
Word.
I do wonder though, if one design has a balance advantage - the way it hangs on a strap.
