Nice basses!!!

I sooo love the teal one...(and the candy orange, but my small brain limits me to 4 strings)...I wanted to jump on it, but I've convinced myself to only buy 24 fret basses...I was and still am aching for it! Hopefully it is as stunning in person as those photos...just an awesome color combo!

I'm new to Sadowsky basses. I just purchased these two beauties here on TB. The weight on the NYC 5 is amazing. I must say these are both terrific instruments.

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, it really is that pretty in person. I missed it the last time it was available so I jumped on it this time and I'm glad I did!

Yep, I'm liking the both a quite a bit so far. I'll do a show with the orange one on April 3rd. That will be the real test IMO. Thanks for the positive comment!

Well I finally got to use my new bass in a band setting this weekend. Of course it performed exactly how I hoped it would. Fit right in the mix on stage, had nice snappy highs, tight fat bottom, but still cut with that modern jazz tone! The HC pickups were a perfect fit for the sound I needed. I really liked the 1 3/4" nut width, it played like buttah! Only problem is now I'm gassing for a 24 fret jazz 5!

Yes definitely. I am not sure about the "R" model (rosewood/morado fboard), but my M5-24 could be tamed with the VTC.

Surprisingly, I use it a lot and like what it does so no not a big deal but yes worth having.

I keep my treble and bass boosted and use the VTC as my one-knob-solution to go from thick and supportive to thick and supportive with some modern sparkle. Very convenient. Plus, IME rolling off the VTC gives these basses a funky midrange texture that really cuts thru a mix.

it was working a few hours ago but it's down ATM. He has a nice red standard 4 and a green vintage 4.

The page is supposed to have sound samplers of all the basses, but I couldn't hear them.

I heard 'em. Some nice sounds all 'round.

The VTC makes the basses tone IMHO. I have played Sadowskys without VTC and Tonewise I would not buy them.

I don't have the VTC on my older Modern 5, but after using it on my Vintage 5 I think I'll probably install it on the older bass.

Oh, I would... but then I'd install a VTC.

Yeah, IMHO, any time you have a boost only preamp, you really need a VTC/PTC, but even though it's to a lesser degree, I also really like having a VTC/PTC when you have a boost/cut preamp. Just a different sound than the active treble cut, and sometimes it's fun to use.

I have often thought about having the VTC installed on my 1999 Sad standard 5 , he was not putting them in yet when I bought the bass , I have never played one with it in but only hear good things about it , probably on one of my many to do list's

Yeah, I mean it's DEFINITELY not that the bass sounds bad without it... not at all... but it's just SO useful I'd always have (or install) one on all mine.

Totally agreed. I loved my M5-24 without it, but with it in place, the instrument is incredibly more versatile.
