I'll have to speak with Kevin about this one, that would have been gone a couple weeks ago!
I'm thinking the processing fee for putting that special price adjustment for that bass in their point of sale system will be pretty hefty...If you give me that $2,500 off, then sure, go ahead and charge me the difference!
Okay. It's nearly perfect. It's missing a Tortie guard. THIS is what I want some day. Why not now? I'm broke.

Considering what 70s spacing does to the usual Fender sound, I wonder what that Sadowsky sounds like? I's imagine that spacing would give the bass a little more zing. But there's already a pretty fair amount of zing on Sadowskys, so maybe it'd be too much?
I dunno. Am I making *any* sense, here?
IMHO Sadowsky's may have the zing but you can easily turn it down using the VTC. I also reckon their blue label nickels are really warm so you wouldn't have a problem with the zing in fact you might switch to SS just to have some on tap. Just my 0.02's
My interpretation of the 70's spacing is added high mids as opposed to extended treble, but I could be wrong....
I'll have to wait until June/July when my UV is due.
+1 Upper mid/lower treble grind.
However, I find the UV and MV Metro's to sound very, very, very similar. The other 'Sadowsky' components, to my ear, tend to overwhelm the bridge pickup position. The UV and the MV both sound like Sadowsky basses, and neither sounds particularly 'vintage' nor Fendery.
Don't get me wrong, I'm Sad lover, owned an NYC and loved it. But does anyone else think this bass is verging on being too light? How powerful can that low B be at 7.55lbs I wonder? I feel like were gonna start to see balsa wood Sadowskys soon, they're pushing down the weight so much. Just my thoughts, no disrespect meant.
I had a Modern that was just slightly heavier than this, and the B was the voice of god.
The impact of heavy versus lightweight body wood is as variable as anything else. To overgeneralize, the light body if anything results in a higher ratio of deep bass and treble versus 'mid meat' (i.e., 'airy sounding') versus a lack of low end. Body weight, to my ear, seems to impact the 'punch factor' in the upper bass/lower mids, if anything.

Those old Fenders that weigh 7.5lbs sound pretty good!!
My lightest was a 7.35lb 24/4. One of the first 24/4's produced. It killed. I sold it to fund my Will Lee but I do miss it. I also owned a 7.65lb 24/5 with Nordstrand Big Singles in 60's positions. Killer bass. My buddy now owns it and he has to literally wrestle it back from his tech just to be able to play it. Roger believes that the whole "heavier sounds better" is a falsehood. We've talked about it and his instruments speak it

Your AC's have to be quite a bit heavier than that too, right? Alleva's always strike me as really physically gerthy, but it's probably just from what I've heard about them rather than their sound being more heavy on the low end or something like that. And Sadowsky B's in the NYC's I've heard just absolutely kill so it makes sense to me.
