Well mine is much more sublime but it's also way more lovely in person. It's bar none the finest instrument I've ever owned, and I've owned a whole bunch! And BluesyCat, that bass of yours is beyond beautiful!

I'm right on the brink of a new order right now.
Aside from deciding on the finish here is the spec.
UVPJ4
Solid ash P-bass body, full size
Flame maple board w/vint-tint, black dot, 20 fret.
1-1/2" at nut
Chrome hardware
I love all these finishes with the Flame maple board.
Trans Butterscotch black pick guard. (darker more mustard tone)
Dark Cherry black or tort guard.
59' Burst tort guard. (already have this on my Jazz)
Vintage tint, black or tort guard
Trans Walnut black guard.
Too many strings around here. And tuning pegs. And the necks are too fat. Must make them really heavy. Sheesh.
I know you jest but for the record, both my Sadowsky's are sub-8 pounds, so not only are they the BEST instruments I've ever owned, they are also the LIGHTEST!
The new P/J four string is terrific too...
I remember when #4480 arrived via UPS. I grabbed the box and it literally felt like nothing was in it, so I made the poor guy wait for me to open it up and when I opened the case, I couldn't believe it!
All that great tone in such a lightweight package!
I got my NYC Modern 5 JJ next and that bass is even lighter! I let the UPS guy move along that time, though!
I've just been amazed with these two basses. I've had them since 2006 and I've never grown tired of them or wanted to change anything about them.
I can't say the same for my previous basses. I'm just happy to have a couple of instruments that I never want to make changes to and I can just use them the way they are intended.

Quick little clip I put up over on the Low Down Sound thread, highlighting an LDS 3 way 112 cab (nice!). Since I used the Sadowsky in the clip, thought I'd post it up here too. The Puma/LDS three way cab rig is very wide and pure... deep, smooth, hi fi up top. It's a unique voicing that does kind of a cool yin yang (IMO) with the aggressive voicing of my particular Sadowsky Vintage (NYC non-routed ash/maple with Sadowsky singles).

Yeah I think the trans walnut is particularly a good choice on a P-bass body shape with the way the P pick guard extends into the knob area. It's a classic and more unique look with the maple board and if it was flamed even nicer. I do love the vintage tint, butterscotch and 59' burst too.. so many good choices. Wish I could have acclimated to the P-neck with on the one you helped me locate, it was a great bass. I hope Legion enjoys it.

+1 again! That is just something. IMO, so many of the 'fancy top' J basses (Sadowsky and other brands) just don't seem to work, especially basses with otherwise 'vintage' components like burst finishes or tort guards, etc. Too many mismatched design components for me.
This one.... everything works IMO... the figuring in the guard, the top and the neck all work beautifully together. Wonderful look!
And.. I bet it sounds pretty good
My five string standard, #4197, is so light, especially in an unltralight case (with the zipper) ... our singer's boyfriend was helping us load up one time and picked it up with a little too much "force" so that he almost fell over since he was expecting more resistance. I opened up the case to prove there was actualy a bass in there
I've come to the point where the P neck is my favorite (I'm only talking Sadowsky necks here) and the WL is too narrow for my tastes.
I'm sure Legion is going to love it but if he doesn't, I wouldn't mind offering him my J in trade.
Regarding the finish, ask Kevin for a picture of the raw body and decide depending on the grain.
