Club Sadowsky!!!

I've been waiting over a dozen years to finally be a Sadowsky owner, and alas... I finally am...

Finally, I can ask... number please!?

Serial # M2451 -- Translucent Red RV5 Sadowsky Metro

(Better pictures to follow... these don't show of the grain of the body and neck at all).

P.S. - thinking of a tort PG... any thoughts?

#294. welcome. that's a very nice combo... and go for the tort guard!

Thank you very much sir...

And, yeah, I'm almost certainly going tort (as per usual ;))... luckily I live in Brooklyn, and Sadowsky's shop is reasonably close to me. I wish I had a better camera to show off how nice this bass looks... the grain of the (quality) alder really shows through in person.

Thanks again... there is no club I'd want more to be a part of.

Long live Sadowsky!!! :bassist:

(P.S. as far as I can tell, Translucent Red w. a Pearl pickguard isn't an option on Metros, at least at the moment... is this a discontinued color for Metros... or a custom order from Sam Ash/Manny's Music? Any info would be greatly appreciated!)

Maybe it is one of the guards you can buy at the Sadowsky Web store: Link Removed

That is quite unusual to have the trans red on a Metro. Is the body ash or alder?

As a dissenting opinion, I really like the pickguard that is on there myself.

I've got 4 gigs in with my new vintage 24-5 ash/maple with my first set of SC's and they have been dead quiet so far I personally dont notice any noise. Also so its amazing how this thing cuts in the mix. im using very little preamp, and running a countryman direct to the house both soundmen we have used say great tone, and running pretty much flat. Really glad to have a single coil J bass in my arsenal.

Look what Kevin sent me a few days ago.

Its gonna be finished in 59 burst and this is the coolest thing : I am getting Ebony blocks on my BE Maple neck. Yes, Blocks on a NYC Vintage model. How cool is that.

Mike

WTB Used Vintage 5 Metro. I am open to different wood combo's but prefer 59Burst finish. MV, RV and UV-70.

I played my ash/maple Metro vintage 24-5 w/SC's Friday in the dance/rock band and just this morning in worship (full aviom, no rig), and it played/sounded amazing. This is now the second Metro in a row that I've gotten that I'd stack up against any NYC from a tone/playability standpoint. IMHO, if you aren't looking for something with special woods, or especially light (since Metros are not chambered), definitely try a Metro first. They are VERY VERY worthy of the name.

HI

I think trans red was available the first couple years on metros. I had a trans blue as a matter of fact.

Rob

I remember seeing a couple of Trans red Metro Moderns, I don't recall ever seeing an RV though. But I think Roger offered both the Trans red and Trans blue in the first couple of years. As far as the Pearl Pickguard, My Metro RV5 (first year) was Corsica Blue Metallic w/ Pearl pickguard. I've never seen that combo on any other since. I miss that bass.

Yea i have had four metros over the past 3 or 4 years im down to one M5-24 Metro and the latest vintage 24-5 which weighs in at 7.8 lb's. I wish i would have thought of sending a deposit and waiting for a nice Metro under 9 lb's to come in. How do you like the aviom rig?
