steady thing; i put the band together for her.
Looks like a fun gig. What are you running the RV5 thru?
BTW - I recall seeing a pic of the RW on that bass. Beauty grain & colour!

Nice, Chef! Not much of a link, but I just used my RV5 on a Country session...I was pleasantly surprised the producer wanted to go with that sound, but he dug the mix of warmth and sizzle. I'm still planning to swap out the pickups for the SC's (and toss in the 500k vol pot at the same time) but the more I hear this bass the more I question the need to change anything. (Nonetheless, I'm jealous that Vic got some SC's for his new baby when all I see is "OOS" on the website. Wah, wah!)

Not that it matter really, but which ones?Got an email from Sadowsky today. Back in stock![]()

We'll need more pics of the singer.
Just sayin'
Cheers,

Cory's latest Sadowsky... (quick) carpet shots!
The color's a little richer in person, but it's late, and I'm too lazy to beef up the pics.

For that job, it was Mesa M9> SWR Henry 8x8.
Crushing!
Single coils show back in stock now, which should mean MV5 #4168 should ship to me soon, and the RV5 should get overhauled soon.
Are they shipping you s.c. for the RV5 as well?
undecided yet.
as i have that mv5 coming, i'm gonna wait and see how that strikes me before i
-keep the rv5 and modify
or
-flip the rv5 as it sits
Different strokes and all
I know it's not quite apples to apples, but:
The alder/morado/hc thing just doesn't work for me.
My Valenti JJ5 and Alleva JJ5 are both more or less that same alder/rw/sc spec; and those do work for me.
I got to gig a Sadowsky NYC P-J for the first time on Saturday (thanks Joinercape!). It really was wonderful in the mix and the light weight (< 8 lbs) was a welcome relief to my shoulders too. I can see what the buzz has all been about and I've already started saving.![]()

So, if I join the Sadowsky BORG again, do I have to wear the hat?I am NOT drinking any koolaid, though.
I am thinking about moving my Alleva Coppolo LG-5 for a Standard 5.

A Sadowsky RV will never sound like an A-C LG, singles or not. Not better or worse, but I agree, if you want a more vintage tone, the LG will work for you, and I've heard nothing better for that vibe. Putting singles in an RV will in NO way move that toward a more traditional vintage tone IMO and IME. It will darken it up a bit though, but to me, that's not really what the Sadowsky basses are about.
Not a big risk in trying the swap though.
