I played a big show last weekend (500 seat theater) And the bass sounded great. I actually used a Treble Boost on my Genz Benz Shuttle MAX 12 to get it closer to the Standard 4. The mid boost at 500 hz wide was used all night as well.
However, I got HC pups coming soon to swap out the singles. Plus, the 500K volume pot. Then the WL will be 100% to my liking. The bass plays like a charm. It is totaly a keeper!!

Been away from the forum for a bit. The neck finishes on all Sadowsky basses are 6 to 7 light coats of nitro. No poly on the necks. The metros have no dye in it so thats why their necks always appear whiter. The NYC finishes have a bit of dye and there is also an option for vintage tint on NYC necks. My WL has the tint option. Here is a pic

That tint almost looks like no tint compared to my '88. This photo was taken for the SWR ad in the early 90's when the bass was fairly new. You can see how much tint is on the neck.
20+ years later and it has not changed much.

Incredible score. Just amazing to look at, even if it sounds half as good as it looks, though we all know the bass sounds 100 times better than it looks.

Maybe, but there's some likelyhood the horse is too far out of the barn.
The WL has a 22-fret neck with a 1.75" nut, which suggests to me, a completely different neck geometry. If the body has been cut, a WL neck wouldn't fit it.
The WL also has a deeper cutaway for better access to the higher positions. It's not quite the same body shape as a regular MV or RV.
Yep. Now that I look at it a bit more, it looks more like the body that they use for the 24 fret basses.
