Just to get this all finally in my head, would you say the big splits sound closer to a single coil than a fat stack in humbucking mode? I think I read this is the case. BTW, I do understand big splits are strictly humbuckers.

Havent listed it for sale as of yet. Kinda waiting to see if my order will be as "fabulous" as I imagine it will be. Doesnt make sense to have 2 JJ 5's, especiallly when I seldom play a 5 string.

Hey, can you still get the NYC vintage models with a universal neck pickup route so you can go from J/J to P/J?

I have a set of Big Splits in my Nordy VJ5 (Alder/Rosewood/Passive) and I A/B'd it extensively with my Metro RV5 and my '99 EMG equipped 24F-5. I have also played a VJ5 with Fat Stacks in it. IMO the Big Splits sound closer to a single coil than the Fat Stacks. The Big Splits are very loud and although my VJ5 is passive, I have had to turn down the gain when switching out from my Zon Sonus 5 with a 9 volt Bart/Bart setup. They have zero hum with a more open sound than the Fat Stacks IMO. I really love my Big Splits and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
BTW, I will be installing a set of Big Singles in my 24F5 in the coming weeks (waiting for the pups to come in) and will post my impressions FWIW.
That's what I did and I am not looking back!
It is more even sounding: more high mids an highs than the stock PUs.
The stock Sad soapbars are too lowmids/ultrahighs for my taste.
Our soundguy prefers this one to my MV5 w. single coils.

Station-music in Germany sells those basses. They've been available for sale for well over a year for too much money. It could be cheaper to buy a NYC model direct from Roger and ship it across.
My name is tom and i'm a sadowsky - a - holic. Intervention hasn't worked, 12 steps haven't worked, 10 days and a couple of two day follow ups didn't work, but what does work are the two pictured here. Since picking up the Vintage 5 str about 10 yrs ago most of my other stuff just sat around collecting dust, so most of it was either sold off or traded. Picked up the 24-5 in '04. These two basses cover 90% of my commitments. (10% to an old '65 P) I'm now also looking hard for a good used P/J 5 or P5.

Glad to hear that you're getting on better with it now, Gilles. From what I heard of it on the few ocassions when I played it through my amp, it seemed just a little "scooped" 
(not that I experimented much with the amp EQ ) and so with the addition of the VTC and the Nordies, it must sound very different now .Could you post a pic of it here sometime please

That's right bmc, these pics were from Station Music's website. In fairness to them, they have sold about a third of the "Anniversary" models, which they comissioned, as there were more available last year.
In fairness to you however
, their prices are much, much higher than some Sadowsky dealers. For instance, a standard, black RV4 from them costs 2,150 Euros (1,703GBP). GUITARGUITAR (in Scotland) have the exact same bass in stock for 1,249GBP 
(inc. case etc.).Of course, it may be the case that the German dealer would be willing to negotiate with any seriously interested parties, but probably not to that extent
.Anyway, something worth keeping in mind, if you're a European in neeed of a Sadowsky - shop around !!!

The Nordies evened this out a bit.
