.... The Brazilain RW fb feels so nice under your fingers. I have never played anything with this fb wood before. I get now why Roger made the comments he did about some other types of RW. This FB is really nothing like any RW fb I have ever played. It almost has some high-grade ebony character in terms of feel and the texture of the wood and the "oiliness" of wood. The strings behave very much the same way as playing a ebony board. But, tonally, it doesn't have that "sing" like ebony. It has a bit less harsh, warmer vibe. VERY nice feel....

Although, it is as "quick" and has the ultra-clear response that I just love...... I don't know if it is the wood combo of 'hog and the Brazilian, but it actually has a nice, warm mid presence to it....

It does have an ultra bright, almost over-lying, treble response to it that takes some taming. The VTC helps, but I did dial a bit of top off my amp.

I'm wondering if these aspects of the fretboard will relieve that reluctance to let it all hang out, so to speak, that you had mentioned being a drawback w/ previous specs you have owned. There is something kind of intangible about that lush rosewood character, both feel & sonic, that I find very conducive to finger style "freedom" that I just love.

Played both the new Sadowskys at an extended rehearsal today. I really enjoyed the way the modern sits in the mix. There's no question it has a very unique voice. I think it was mentioned earlier that it's solo voice doesn't really do the bass justice in terms of how it sits in a mix. I can see that. I really think I can get attached to this bass!

The PJ was fine. It needs a little setup work, but overall it was exactly what I expected. It has a nice warm tone that is really great for some of the rock/blues stuff I do with this gig. I played it on a few tunes and was very happy with it. It will be a second/backup bass for me. It's certainly a nicer backup than I deserve.

I will say that it is pretty heavy compared to what I have been playing. I haven't weighed it, but I would be surprised if it was less than 9.5 or so.

I was walking around Disney yesterday when I got the call it was a done deal.
Hangin with the Mouse and getting back in the club I started! :D

And now, going to Barefoot Beach here in Naples!

IME, you get more. Not sure, but
I'd guess whatever it is that adds that "sparkle" in active mode must tend to behave this way. Or, it may simply be a false perception due to the change in gain.
