Club Sadowsky!!!

As long as you're NOT buying it for the status/image, then you're NOT a poser (which is really I think what you're afraid of being thought of here). If someone is going to pass judgment on you without knowing you, that's THEIR problem... not yours.

There's TONS of bassists out there that blow my doors off without even breaking a sweat, and doing it on $300 class basses. Doesn't bug me one bit, and it shouldn't bug you, either.

In short, it truly and honestly enhances my musical experience to be on a Sadowsky (or similar quality) bass, and I can afford it, so "done."

You've got nothing to worry about, Jerry. If there were a poser in this club it would be me, playing "Taking Care of Business" or "Mustang Sally" on a burl-maple topped NYC Will Lee in a dive bar, which happens most weekends. :hiding:

I don't worry about it. The few hours I get out of the house to gig are what keep me from going ******* crazy. I can afford a Sadowsky (or two) and get tremendous joy from playing them, even if it is just cover music in a bar. No one but me cares what I play, which is just fine by me.

Heck, half the crappy drivers around here are driving Lexuses (Lexii?) or Porsches and no one gives them grief about driving a $50,000 sports car at 50 mph. in the left lane on the highway with their blinker on. :rolleyes:

I wear lousy clothes and drive an aging Subaru. I choose to spend my money on bass gear, because it makes me happy. I've got many more important things to worry about than what someone else thinks of my playing ability (or lack thereof) and equipment. I play Sadowskys because I haven't found any other bass that makes me as happy to play.

Keep on rocking, Jerry!! Do what makes YOU happy.

And BTW Jerry, I flew out of San Jose this afternoon. Didn't know you were down there too.

Well, I took a little TB sabbatical for a while, it looks like I missed 2 Club Sadowsky installments - you guys have been busy!

Here's my foursome. Still loving them all, with maybe just a little extra special love for the P/J. First among equals? :D
