Your 4 string cousin! Can we start a subdivision of the club for spalted maple tops?!![]()
Well....... I think I have a buyer for my 1993 24 Fret 5 String.
The only Sadowsky bass I've ever owned. It has been my faithful friend for almost 18 years. I put it in the shipping carton yesterday.
This tougher than I thought.
If the sale actually goes through, I'll put it on the truck, say goodbye and send it to L.A..![]()
I'd like to get a NYC 5 string jazz. There are a few in the classified section.Any help with the clubs advice will be greatly appreciated.
I like standard cherryburst ash/maple
I like the vintage 5

I keep thinkin. about calling Sadowsky and placing an order for a Standard 5 tiger eye, quilt top, ebony board, gold hardware and a black head stock with gold logo.
Thanks for listening,
Shepp
That is a great pic, and yeah, I still have mine, too. It's what I use at one of the churches I play. Pretty low volume stuff, electronic drums, so it works great!Holy Smokes! 3 pages already. This has always been my favorite pic - the day I got it! Delivered to my work.
Vic, check out the little amp in bottom of the pic....look familiar? That was my "keep at work" amp for the jams in the conference room during the holidays. There it is. The cat is outta da bag.

I'm not a member of Club Sadowsky just yet, but I spent the first two weeks of December emailing Kevin with a million questions, all of which he patiently answered, in anticipation of my first NYC custom build. I've decided to go with a four-string with vintage appointments--full-size alder body, single coils pups with 60s spacing, Brazilian rosewood board, vintage tint neck--and will place the order immediately after the New Year.
In the meantime, I'm in Brooklyn this week visiting my family, and I stopped by the Sadowsky showroom this morning just to see what there was to see. I spoke to Lisa, one of the builders, who was extremely generous with her time and expertise, and I even got a chance to chat with Roger for a few minutes--talk about being made to feel welcome! Thanks to you both!

It all changes once they get your money.......![]()
Yeah, they turn into potato chips.
One is never enough!
No wonder these threads go so fast, everyone posts the same pictures every 2 or 3 weeks! Not sure I understand![]()

The idea is, as you likely know, there are two ways to subscribe to a thread... you can use the drop down menu, or you can post. At some point it just became kind of a tradition to post your current collection each time a new thread segment starts.
A couple things happen as a result. You get a ton of picture posts of great looking basses loaded up real close together, and you get to kinda' keep up with who all has what at the time (which may be interesting if there are folks that tend to shuffle through a lot of great basses somewhat regularly).
Of course I don't know if the majority feels it's nothing but a pretentious rehash or if the majority enjoys it for one or both of the items above, but I'm not married to the idea. If it's generally deemed to be more annoying than enjoyable, then I'd certainly have no problem not doing it anymore.
