Anyone here willing to let go of a tortoise pickguard for my TT4 ? having a hard time sourcing one in North America, tried a few suppliers but no go.

When I wanted a different colour pickguard for my VM4 I just contacted Sandberg. It was easy, fast, and not particularly expensive. I considered just using one of various businesses that will copy one for you, but Sandberg prices were similar and even a bit cheaper than some, and I didn't need to send away my pickguard for them to copy.

It's a Sandberg Lionel Short Scale!
Really diggin it so far. It's got a very light relic treatment and the finish looks so much nicer in person. It's my first Sandberg and I have to say it's probably one of very best production basses I've ever owned. Construction is top notch, action is perfect, the hardware is so nice and stylish, even down to the knobs. And that pickup is total P Bass territory. I was looking for the tone of a full scale P bass, but lighter and shorter scale. The Lionel totally delivers on that.
Just gotta get some flats on her now and she'll be perfect!

A question to the club: does anyone here own MarloweDK 5 string? Does it sound any different from a regular TT5 model due to vibration treatment and different pickups positioning? I love my TT5 but thinking about buying a MarloweDK because it has 35" scale which will be better for low B and vibration treatment also sounds good. Thanks!
Can’t give you the 5er lowdown but can give you the 4 string version.
Yes it is different from a TT and that’s comparing it to a masterpiece and a normal one. I think the treatments do make a difference to the sound and feel, but probably the biggest difference is more bite to the sound with the jazz pick up nearer the bridge in the 70s position and a thinner profile neck.
I can’t imagine the 5er being anything other than awesome bearing in mind how good the 4 banger is

Do Sandberg bridges use the same bolt pattern as Fender? I like my Sandberg, but I absolutely hate the way the intonation adjusts on it. If I can swap it to another bridge, I'd be happy enough with it to keep it.

Hipshot A style with 19mm spacing has the same spacing between screw holes. It might be a drop in replacement. Hipshot stuff is great quality, but I have no complaints at all with the stock Sandberg hardware so have no experience with changing the bridge.

Can't say that I have ever had an intonation problem with the stock bridges. What exactly do you mean? Are you not able to achieve intonation, or is it difficult to achieve intonation, or do you find that the intonation changes with time/use? If you can clarify, then maybe we can help.

I just don't care for the design... loosening the string and moving the saddle by hand is just a weird way of doing it IMO. Everything else about the bass is incredible. If I could find an aftermarket bridge that I can use a screwdriver on to adjust intonation, I'd be 100% on board.

That’s a good news. My only concern is 35” scale with the 5 string MarloweDK as it’s the only option. I love B string with 35” scale but the G string sounds too thin IMO. And I’ll probably replace the stock single coils with noiseless Black Labels if I ever push the trigger. Now I am hesitating between the two: TT5 masterpiece 34” and MarloweDK-5 35”, the last one is much cheaper but actually has the same vibration treatment as Masterpiece series. Here are the pictures, the white one is masterpiece, the red is marlowe. The choice is tough...

Don’t get me wrong I love the black labels, but if you do push the trigger on the DK love with it for a while - the pick ups are very good and if you like using pre-amps are very good for sound sculpting, just the right amount of inherent tone And volume to start with And then mould away.
