This is my red couple. TT5 passive and VS5. VS5 will have a pickup replacement soon, I’ve just got a Nordstrand NP5 pickup for it. TT5 pickups are one of my favorites. Great passive Alnico-5 singles.

I already have a Fender jazz custom shop 60 and I am very curious to compare them ... not so much for the sound that is the classic jazz sound but for the construction details, finishes and components ... all this will be very interesting

I own both Fender Custom Shop basses and Sanderg Basses. Both are good, but very different.

Can you somehow compare them? They are certainly different for the construction features .. I see the Sandbergs of modern conception compared to the Fender cs .. and honestly, having already a Fender cs 60 I expect the Sandberg to be different otherwise it doesn't make much sense to buy it. I'm interested in understanding the differences between raw materials and basic finishes .. thank you very much!

I think so, that's why it is more expensive than a normal Hardcore Aged. I believe there is also a "Hardcore Reserve" finish, I'm not sure about the differences

I've just pulled the trigger on this but in 6 string and with an Ebony ramp fitted. The waiting is the hardest part!!!

I have a Hardcore Reserve, it's with thermo treatment and relic, but not relic on a fingerboard. Masterpiece it with thermo treatment, vibration treatment and relic also on the fingerboard.

I asked Sandberg the same question before ordered it, and the answer was that heat treatment is applied to all the wood for a bass

Another reason I want their Masterpiece bass. This overall heat and vibration treatment enhance resonance and stability.

So I have been really liking my thunderbird lately and thinking of ordering a forty eight and have been playing with the configurator and I am wondering how green is green burst. I want some color but I have neon green covered in an 80’s bass already has anyone seen a green burst bass in the wild. The pictures look good, just a little scared to go all in....

I got worried because I contacted Gregor of Sandberg, his response was this:
Hi Andrea, the thermo wood option only applies if you ordered it specifically. Masterpiece basses don't have thermo woods as standard. The vibration treatment is applied after the bass is completely assembled. Best wishes, Gregor

The matte greenbursts that I've seen are a lovely emerald color, not "in-your-face".

The one I saw was pretty similar to your pic from the config. If anything a little more standard green or emerald as was mentioned and slightly more opaque. I decided to build my own, well close to a tbird 48, BCR Mashup.

Obviously not finished yet. I needed another project.

If you just look up Sandberg bass emerald or Greenburst you can find plenty of examples

I am not sure if Gregor is right. Heat and vibe treatment is standard for all Masterpiece series as for Sandberg website. Also, Gregor was once mistaken when he told me that black label pickups are Alnico but then it turned out they were ceramic
