I am not sure if Gregor is right. Heat and vibe treatment is standard for all Masterpiece series as for Sandberg website. Also, Gregor was once mistaken when he told me that black label pickups are Alnico but then it turned out they were ceramic

In fact, I contacted the dealer in Italy for Sandberg and he confirmed that it is a complete treatment in the masterpiece finish

That’s good. Some dealers are better informed than brand representatives

You can also see on it's Configurator. If You choose aged, then color and then type of aging, options on the low side of web page is changing in order what You get with different type of aging.
Also for the neck (and this is new on configurator) You can specifically chose roasted or not (regarding fingerboard), and down it says - roasted: only Norwegian maple. for ebony, rosewood and pao ferro fingerboard, only the neck is roasted.

No. Roasted is a neck configuration option. But masterpiece series get heat treatment which is different thing.

Thanks, now to look at the wall and see what I need to sell to still have some balance. It’s a fine line between bass player and bass hoarder.

So I have been really liking my thunderbird lately and thinking of ordering a forty eight and have been playing with the configurator and I am wondering how green is green burst. I want some color but I have neon green covered in an 80’s bass already has anyone seen a green burst bass in the wild. The pictures look good, just a little scared to go all in.... FWIW, I have a blueburst, and it's just the right level of saturation. At a guess, if you have a specific shade you want, you could always ask how closely they're willing/able to match it.

Future club member here...with a bit of option paralysis. Anyone have a bass in brilliant blue RAL 5007? I’m pretty certain that’s what I’m going to go with but it’d be great to see it on an instrument.

Can't help ya with blue, but I figure the redburst bass I received matched the Configurator's depiction well.

Exactly the same just instead of two volumes you have a balance knob. Personally I prefer this configuration.

So to play only the neck pickup or the bridge pickup I only work on the balance?

No you can blend how much you want of each
Full neck
Full bridge
50/50
60/40
40/60 etc

If it’s not your thing Re-wiring to a vol pot is very simple and takes minutes

You can either roll balance knob fully to whichever pickup you want to solo or you may just add some of the either pickups, I.e. blending them. In real life I usually play both pickups on full (balance in the middle) to avoid cycle hum.
