Club Sandberg (part 2)

New member of the family! I need to take a better pic without the weird reflections on the body but here she is for now.

Definitely a little different sound than my VMs.

Hey folks, I live in St. Louis, Missouri and would like to play a Sandberg California II Superlight TM5 before I purchase one. So, if any of you are located in relative proximity to me. I live in Olivette. If you happen you have this specific bass. PM me. Thanks in advance.

Juuussst in case I hit the lottery, what’s the wait time like on these basses if you configure one on their website? Soft aged red with the maple board, parchment gaurd, for a five string passive jazz with a 35in neck. Every single box checked! Like I said, just curious, getting along very nicely with my SR5

I was quoted 4 months last time I asked - any aging and/or roasted maple will probably add a month more.

Though this was during COVID so it may be lower now.

It's actually longer now. The last one I custom ordered (just a VT4 with no relicing) took about 14 months to be delivered. Ordered in May of 2021 and took delivery in early July 2022.

14 months?! Damn, that's a major increase. Guess demand gone up or something.

Truth be told, when I got my VS4 it was like an ephiphany. Suuuuuuuper lightweight and the roasted maple neck is to die for.

It's vintage tone for days in passive mode and in active it just punches you right in the stomach.

I am on abit of a string rotation at the moment, it's down to GHS pressurewound or TI flats.
