Club Sandberg (part 2)

Its not like me not to want to know what's "under the hood" or not experiment with strings, pickups, setups, etc. But in the two weeks I've owned my Sandberg there is NOTHING I want to change. Ok... I lied. I did lower the action a couple 64ths. But that's it. It will probably always have Sandberg strings unless I can't find them when needed. I think I have two sets of them coming from two different sources. So hopefully I'll be set for another year or two with strings.

NBD for me…. I am in love with my new Forty Eight. Not too heavy. Sounds fantastic. Photographed here with her older sister. Which is also an awesome instrument.

Forty Eight pickups question: has anyone ever popped the covers off to see what is under them? I have a forty eight coming this week (woo hoo!) and, well, I’m a curious type. Curious how the pickups compare to my VM4’s. figured I’d ask before I dig in.
IIRC the bridge and neck p'ups are both reverse p's. I think i may have heard that in one of Sandberg's demo videos but cant remember for sure

Got a new set of Sandberg strings (The standard 40-100). Man, I am having a hard time choosing between these and the La Bella 760FS I recently put on it.

Each got their merits and complement either the active part of the bass or the passive part (It's a California VS4).

Bought it from Bassbuddha, as I am located in the same country as the store (Denmark).

Not sure where you can get them in the US, most shops here in Europe carry them.

Otherwise rumors are that it's re-branded GHS Supersteels, so that may be worth giving a try if Sandberg strings are hard to come by across the pond.

I just ordered a new pickguard, directly from Sandberg.

Customer service was absolute fantastic.

Quote was 140USD (Includes shipping and aging, as my bass is hardcore aged and a new shiny pickguard would look wrong).

5 week waiting time as anything not on the online webshop is considered a special order.

Aging is 37USD.

This is for a VS4 - It includes the control panel aswell, of course.

I just ordered a couple of sets from Morten at Bass Buddha. Curious to see how long it takes for delivery to the US. The bass took 3 weeks so I’ll set my expectation there. :D
